Is "A Salt Weapon" for real?

Anyone actually know this guy?

He comes on the board new (zero posts) and immediately starts blasting a brand. We have certainly seen this M.O. before on OSO.

He feels a need to make us think our brand is inferior based solely on his personal taste. Does not say much for his character.

Does he really own a boat? I have not seen pictures.

What is his boating experience? Personally from ready his posts there are many errors and I feel he has little experience. Looks like to me that he is a victim of a boat salesperson that has reeled him in hook, line, and sinker.

Maybe he did buy a Sonic and now wishes he didn't?

Or his he a part of the "New Sonic"? Maybe he is a factory guyand sales are slow?

This whole thing does not add up to those of us in the know and I have to believe this guy is not for real.

Any other opinions?

I havent heard of him until now. He sure isnt trying to make any friends on the board thats for sure. His posts look like a 13 yr old wrote them.

I think he is just a young inexperienced (in life and boating) kid that is trying to impress everyone with his knowledge of boating that was given to him by an over zealous Sonic salesman! Nothing against Sonic but their salesmen must lay it on pretty thick!!! :rolleyes: He has been over at the Sutphen form expressing his knowledge and making new friends there too! :D Check out ANY 26's FOR SALE thread in the Sutphen forum. Maybe he will either grow up or go away. I am good with either one :drink:

I would not be asking who you were if you had not come on this site trashing the brand I love with no real facts, only your personal opinion and no experience with the brand.

I have made more friends boating then you will probably have in a life time if you conduct yourself in life like you have on this forum.

You just seem to ramble and ramble and have no clue of the real facts.

If there are eight people that don't like me then maybe they will have the guts to come on here and tell me first hand instead of wasting time going through you.

I'll admit, this post made me laugh, but at the same time it confirmed your age to be 15 or less, correct? I'd bet my next 10 paychecks you didnt get any PMs, let alone 8 of them! And whats this about Dock Holiday not owning a boat? Come on pal, at least do a little research before putting your foot in your mouth. There are pictures of his boat with his name on it all over this site, and in magazines.

Now, get off mom and dads computer and go play some Mario Brothers or something! :D

Could you do me a favor. Please post right here a picture of the boat you own. Please tell us about it and all the work you have done on it.

Both myself and Dock Holiday personally own 36 Outlaws.

As any good builder knows in order to build a solid house you must have a solid foundation upon which to build that house.

From my viewpoint your foundation is made of quicksand.

Please go somewhere else.

You sound a lot like a girl I know. Maybe I do know who you actually are.

Like I posted before you are just rambling on and on about nothing.

When I came to this forum back in 1999 I did not know anything about performance boats. I have learned a lot since then from the great people on OSO and other boards, and I have been there and done that. There are a LOT of very nice and knowledgeable people on this board and I call a lot of them friends.

I share my experience because I love this sport. You really do not make any friends coming on here and bashing brands. There are brands that I would NEVER buy, but other people love them and we are all in it to enjoy boating. It serves no purpose at all to trash another brand especially when you have NEVER owned that brand, or when you have no experience with that brand.

If you want to come forward and be a real Man or women, which ever the case, and show us your boat, and offer information that can help us all you will be welcome here. Otherwise you are just digging a deeper hole.

Who's your buddy? Anybody I should look out for? Id wear my Dock Holiday shirt tomorrow, but every single time I wear a new shirt in, it leaves with drive oil stains NO MATTER what! :D

A Salt, Take a friendly piece of advise, there are certain rules of edicate to all sites & forums! With all the people you have been rubbing wrong with such a small amount of posts, it should occur to you that you are crossing some major boundry lines. You are intitled to your opinion and people will respect it if it is offered in a reasonable way. You can't go to any forum ranting and bashing as you did here and not expect a hostile reaction! If you say you were just giving your opinion then your comunication skills SUCK!!! I would suggest you think a little more before you go typing a bunch of crap that is not factual based. Most boaters have alot of pride and money in what ever brand of boat they decided to purchase & most are brand loyal! The fact that they have not attacked Sonic in retaliation to your remarks is a testimony to TRUE BOATERS with class. This is something you need some practice with if you are going to get along here or anywhere else!!! You are not going to find any sympathy here after making remarks like you did!! The bottom line is that Doc is a long standing member here that has made many valuable contibutions to OSO and many other sites, forums, and the boating community in general while you on the other hand have made a handfull of posts and managed to piss off most everybody. That alone should make you go hmmmm. I and everyone else here stand behind Doc and for you to pursue this is only going to make it worse on you! You should take a big step back and lay low for a while until you can manage some protocal because contrary to your beliefs YOU STARTED THIS not Doc. Think about it! :rolleyes:

Here's another point to ponder: maybe you didn't attack anyone personally (at least in the beginning), but I think there are more diplomatic ways of expressing your opinion of Baja without using such referencecs as "7th grade graphics" or "Hyundai of performance boats". That sort of thing is just guaranteed to piss a few people off, myself included.
If I were you I'd delete your present profile, create a new one and start out fresh, remembering this experience as a learning period. If you stay on here with your present profile you probably won't get much respect.

Very well said. I don't post here much but I read this forum a lot. "Salty Weapon?" Get lost. You are entitled to your own opinion but why share it in a manner that is very unbecoming. I enjoy this forum because it keeps me excited about the sport as I stare out my office window at 4 inches of snow and can only think about the upcoming season. As I have read I have picked up valuable info from Doc's post I have never thought he was conducting himself as a Know it all. "Salty Weapon?" why would you bring your opinion and express it in the way that you do? I know I personally Deal with enough crap everyday that when it comes to my hobby the last thing I want to read about is someone talking trash for no reason. Keep it to yourself. Start a post on Sonic's forum stating that Baja's suck I don't care. Just stop messing with my enjoyment.

i hate to agree with salty weapon but i also think doc is a know it all. i know i have asked at least 4 or 5 questions on the baja forum, and who always butts in and answers them.......DOC!! i also bought a full cover from doc a couple years ago for a 36, when it came it looked as if it had never been used, like maybe he doesnt have a boat but only bought the cover and then sold it here to look like he owned a 36. then all those pics he posts, look at me, look what i have done now to make "my boat" look cooler. all photoshoped i bet, i for one say it is time to expose doc for what he is.

Ok, I disagree with you. I think your opinion of the Baja brand is based on just that, your opinion. You have obviously not done any real research on the brand and are obviously the kind of person that thinks since they would not own a particular boat, that it must be inferior. You say you have not made any personal attacks to anyone, well I disagree with that as well. When you come to an owners forum on a enthusiast website and pi$$ on the brand of boat that I have spent my hard earned money on for no reason than to make yourself feel better about the purchase you have made, then you have made a personal attack on me. Do yourself a favor and hang out somewhere else.

As for Dock, I have spent alot of time over the last couple of years talking to him and have attended some poker runs with him as well. He is a great guy, passionate about the boat he owns and is one of the few people on the net I would consider a friend.

Enjoy your Sonic, I am sure it is a nice boat.

Salt, first off, get a real name if you want to talk sh!t. Don't hide behind a screen name.
Second, learn to spell properly. Your lack of knowledge of the English language adds to your already well known dumb-ass persona.
Third, post up some pictures of your "boat" and build your on line "resume" a little.
Fourth, try me out for some bashing. I just quit drinking and I think I have a little anger to vent.
Fifth, Go get f*cked. I don't know you, don't like you and don't want to see you here. Go find the Bayliner owners forum.

Well it appears that OSO has learned the truth about our friend "a salt weapon". Looks like he is gone!

Unfortunately he was not able to come on this or other forums and contribute useful information.

I really hate to get into situations like this, but feel sometimes it is necessary to stand up to these guys. Those of you that saw his last two posts know that there was no reasoning with this individual and he had a ax to grind for some unknown reason.

1) What area of the country do you boat in?
2) How long have you been boating?
3) What boat do you currently run?
4) What boats have you owned in the past?
5) Have you done any poker runs?
6) Are you members on any other forums besides OSO?

To be fair I will share all the above questions with you about me. I mainly boat in North Carolina and the Southeast USA, including inland lakes, rivers, ICW and the Atlantic Ocean. I have been boating 40 years now, currently on my 8th boat, which is a 36 outlaw and the 3rd Baja I have owned. We do a lot of poker runs and I belong to three other forums related to boating.

We welcome new members and look forward to learning more about you.
