Default 29 Outlaw big power

Who has big power in their 29 Outlaw? I'm talking over 500 HP. How fast is it? I want to be in the mid 80's and am looking to find out how much hp I'm gonna need.

JT with the 33 and 575's had a 29 w/500's and i thought it did low 80s, Id say 550hp/side would get you there.

How low were the 80's on the 500's?

why not look at putting 2.3 whipples on your motors? 454mags are one of the best motors for these

Thought about that too. I just hate the thought of spending $13000 for 200 more hp a side. On top of the expense of a rebuild. I think I can spend far less $ and get to 550 HP. Whipple claims "up to 50%" more HP, that translates to 577.5 HP on a 385 hp engine.
Who knows, I may have a new boat by this fall anyway.

I'm in on 90 mph. That is where I would like to be. That seems pretty good for only 650 a side.

I would think that 650 a side should get you more than that. My 38 Topgun with 575's can hit 90 on a good day (88 consistently). Granted it is stepped, but alot more weight than a 29 Outlaw. I had a 2002 29 Outlaw with 496's (375's) and it would run 70-71. Seems weird that the hull is that slow. It was a nice boat though.
