275 with 496 HO and bravo 3

A friend of mine wants to buy a Baja 275 with Merc 496 HO and bravo 3 drive.
Has anyone tested this package ?
What is maximum top speed for a bravo 3 drive, the dealer says the boat runs 68 MPH - is this possible with a Bravo 3 drive ?

Bravo 3 ?????????????????
Why ?????????????????????
No advantages that I know of, will be hard to play with prop options and will slow you down.
Tell him to get the Bravo "X" drive. He will be a lot happier and will be in the 68 MPH range.

I must have the slowest 275.
With a 4 blade 62 on gps
labbed 25 mirage plus 66 on gps.
Maybe my gps reads slower.
(the impress your passengers guage reads 72 mph though)
I was dissapointed until I realized everyone is not as fast
as they say. I know alot of people claim their boat ran 68 or 70 but must hold back a couple hundred rpm whenever we run accross the lake.

If the boat was set up with family and party barge in mind, that's the reason for the BravoIII. Its not designed to go 'offshore' or as much as you might try with a B1 drive Baja. The BravoIII drive has a great holeshot, and is great for pulling up skiers and tubers and such. If he really likes the boat, check with Baja and see if they configure/set a different X-dimension on boats with BravoIII drives vs. Bravo1 (any derivative) drives. If there is no difference, tell him to go ahead and buy the boat, and have the dealer throw in a Bravo1 (XR, XZ, X) so he can have a two natured boat.

Boat is running 67 MPH on GPS with the stock 496 HO and CMI headers and the Bravo 3 X (28`props)
