Baja 250 ES, Length/speed w 7.4
I saw a 1990 250ES posted in a classified stated the length as almost 27'.
Now I ask myself, if it's almost 27, then why would they call it a 250 instead of a 270 or 280?
What is the actual length of a 250?
I'm guessing it's 24 w a swim platform tacked on.
Does anyone have info on these boats?
How fast w a 7.4 bravo package?
Same difference as a 1989 250 Sport?
Thanks
Evan

Re: Baja 250 ES, Length/speed w 7.4
1988-1999 Baja called it a 250 Sport
1990 Baja called it a 250 ES
1991-?? Baja called it a 270 ES
It is a true 25' hull, overall length is 26'9" or something close to that. They changed the name to 270 in 1991 when the industry started including fiberglass platforms as length (another huge crock of sh@t in the marine world). I would say speed would be 55-57. I had one with a 454 mag and I thought it was a great boat for the money. It ran in the low 60's stock.

We ran that boat for 4 years and never had a seconds trouble with it. Rode and looked great, and had a lot of cockpit and cabin room for a boat that size.

That is probably my boat your refering to. The model is a 250 and the overall length is 26' 9" which includes the intregal swim platform. After 1990 they just started stating the boat longer to include the platform like everyone else. Top speed with the 454 is 56-58mph w/ 21p prop

I had a 1990 250ES w/a7.4 in it. It ran great, high 50's. reliable, easy to service, alot of fun. Bought her used in 1994 for 19,000.....sold her in 2001 for 15,000. Not bad, huh? ERIK
