I would say he was bs or didnt know how to drive or something wrong, I think they run that range with ho's or 502's

I agree with that weight. Mt 36 is 8400 lbs dry without options. Add the generator and all the goodies down below that the 38 has and she is heavy.

i know that it takes about 740hp a side to run 84......worked for a dealer years back that did one. boat did not have have a genset. they are big heavy boats that like to bow steer. the more that you can get the bow out of the water the better...

Dock is right on the money. here is my weight slip for my 38 with 1/2 tank of gas fully loaded.
