Destin 2006 w/ "Poker Face"
We had a great time at the Destin Poker Run. This was our second time there and it is by far my favorite destination in Florida.
From the white sand beaches to the emerald green waters it is a beautiful place to visit and to boat.
On Friday before the run we made our usual trip 60 miles West to Alabama on the ICW to a resturant some friends introduced us to year before last. Had a 38 Formula tag along with us for the run down.
Blane and Jason from Baja hooked up with us early Saturday moring before the poker run. Our boats were at the same marina. Blane ask if I knew where I was going and when he heard "YES", he said they were following us. We ran the entire run with them, or I should say they ran with us. There was a 35 Fountain and a 25 Outlaw that started with us, but when we opened them up on the return across the bay we lost both of them.
A special thanks to Jason for pushing us off the beach at the Tiki Hut card stop. My just polished props from Throttle up have some sand paper makes on them now.
Great trip, lots of friends there, beautiful weather (Africa Hot), many awesome boats and a great party with the best food you will find at any poker run.
Here are a few pictures for you guys.
P.S.
By the way a 29 Outlaw crashed Friday before then run heading out the inlet by AJ's. The conditions were very rough outside and this guy ran out with his drives trimed to the moon and just about flipped the boat over backwards. The boat was straight up in the air and came down on the transom sending both to the hospital. I saw them at the pool late Saturday and they looked okay, but the girl had a bad limp.
Please be careful folkes and don't get over your heads.

This was Poker Run #23 that "Dock Holiday" has run.
A few shots around AJ's.
That is our buddy "Skater Steve" from Lake Norman on the far left.

I have been all around Florida and Destin is the prettiest area for sure.
The poker run is not my favorite, even though they have GREAT food. But it is my favorite place to boat. We are planning a vacation there next year and skip the poker run.
