Oil temp???
What oil temp should I expect after the engine has reached normal operating temp(about 160-180)? 496 Mags in a 30OL. Ran for a few hours on Friday and the oil temp gauges never moved off 140 on either engine.

Mine are just like yours barley move off 140. I ran hard this past weekend. Well running about 4000 for about 40 miles straight. Oil temp was about 160-170 still barely off the 140 mark. I have never seen it near the 190 mark.

Jay,when I had my 33 o/l with the 496's I was concerned that they did not move too.I found out that they will not move until you run it hard for quite a while in august when its pretty hot out.One thing though...the gas gauge moved very quickly...

500 efi'S
190 degrees all day long before the HP upgrades
200 Degrees now
140 seems way too low to be able to boil out any water or moisture? Call Merc and ask them first hand.
