New (To me) 29 Outlaw!

Your new boats looks real good. I went from a 25 to 29 and I really love the ride difference.
To answer the reply above you can pick up an aluminum platform from http://www.extrememarine.cc/ that's who makes them for baja. Really nice. I just got one.

Well, they through in a couple new batteries and we headed to the lake. Unfortunately, so did the rain. Now, I'm not afraid to get wet but it was coming down pretty hard and I really wanted to be able to concentrate on the performance of the boat and not be distracted by the rain. We grabbed some lunch hoping it would clear but it just got worse. We'll try again tomorrow but at least I got a few more good photos!
Hey Tank, definately going to do Desert Storm this year! It's on my new "must do" list as well as SCOPE and The Delta. Also want to hit Lake Tahoe and at least one Catalina and S.B. run.
I think this is, like you said, a great all around boat (finaly!
). Twin power, reasonable entry and operation costs, towable with my truck and great condition. Upgradable performance wise and a some what timeless design (and paint). I'm going to keep this one a while (somebody shoot me if I talk about selling!) and will hopefully gets years of enjoyment out of it (with NO crazy, out of control mods).
Here's some new pics (with one of how it will look behind my truck!

Al, can't wait to see you on the water with that beauty! And of course tie up for a few cold ones!
I'm really happy you finally settled on a boat that will fit all your needs (ocean, small lakes, big lakes, turn key, big enough, etc.) no more fixer uppers or boats that are too small for you. It really looks sharp. You know I LOVED my Baja and would own another in a heart beat. I've always liked the 29's. Like you said timeless/classic lines.
Get a hold of me for Havasu and we'll hook up. We're heading out Thursday April 26th through April 30th.

Glad to see you still hanging in the Baja section!
Looking forward to seeing you and Kelly in Havasu too (and all the other So Cal crowd). Will definately talk to you before hand. I'm booking my room at the Nautical tomorrow.Any ocean runs planned soon? I might be tempted to haul her out there for a splash in the big blue.
Well, the sea trial went very well. The weather was bright and sunny but just a tad cool (low 60's). The boat fired right up and ran very smoothly. After a couple minutes of getting readjusted to twin sticking it, I was on my way. The boat is pretty quick out of the hole with Mirage 23's. The water was very flat but at full throttle, trimmed up we were at 4500 RPM with 65 indicated on non-GPS speedo. I think that's a little low, ought to be at 4800 to 5000 with 7.4 MPI I would think. So may play with ignition and props a bit. Mid range acceleration wasn't too bad either but just not a lot of top end. I am determined not to go crazy with mods on this boat. I'd rather sacrifice top end speed for reliabilty but I think external mods like headers, MSD, etc shouldn't cost too much or hurt reliability.
Hanlding was great. Nothing like the "True V" Baja hull design! I could pitch it into a full lock turn at almost any speed and feel very comfortable with it. It just digs in and turns. There were no waves so still need to see how it handles the rough stuff but I'm very happy with it. Gave the dealer rep my okay once we got it back on the trailer. They are going to clean it up and check a couple things so should be able to pick it up Saturday and go boating on Sunday!
Only got a couple pics on the ramp, none in the water.
