I finally got a chance to really air out my boat yesterday and was popping the rev limiters with the stock 26 Bravo Ones one the boat. Not sure on the rpms but I've seen around 5000 on one engine and 4800 or so on the other in the past (guessing one of the tachs is off). Thinking about picking up a pair of 28s to try. Be curious to see if anyone else has run a pair.

The difference in tach's I'm guessing is due to unbalanced props I've found Merc's props are very inconsistant. Hope this helps.

keep us posted. Julie at throttle up will be your best bet. I am wanting to try labbed 28's. They will be a tickmore than the 26's since they are labbed(or they can make them to suit your specs.) If your engines can push them . It should give you more speed.

If you are @ 5,000/4,800 with stock 26's you will be 4,600/4,400 and way out of the power band of the motors. Labbing 28's will get you back to around 4,900 but I don't know many able to turn 28's with stock 496's.

Kilroy, what motors were you running? I have 454/ 385 hp mags and I am running stock 26s now. I like the lower cruise rpms but I am only running around 4500 rpms wot. They still are good hole shot and midrange power as well. I am thinking Throttle up this winter to tune. ALso I am at about 650 hrs so it might be time for a refresh and more power?!!!!
