I need a POSTER

If anyone has a Baja poster of the 420 APBA stepped hull pace boat that is in good condition I would be interested in paying TOP dollar for it.

I believe they sold it last if I am not mistaken. I remember seeing it for sale not that long ago.

Dock,
It's in the mail. It wouldn't fit in my envelopes so I had to cut it in half and put it in two envelopes--I hope thats OK.:D:D

The most popular Baja of all times as far as I'm concerned.

It was the famous 420 which was built to be the official pace boat for the APBA and served for two years. It was built with a step bottom for the speed required to stay ahead of the race boats and was powered by triple 800 sc's.

Then there was also the famous B36 Baja race boat.

Jay,
You are going to have to move to the East coast so it will be legal for you to start drinking earlier!

Nice talking with you today buddy.:ernaehrung004:

I'm not sure I can wait that long, but if that is the best you can do then oh well.

Thanks buddy!

If I moved to the East coast we would both probably end up single and in a whole lot of trouble.:hitfan: Besides we don't want to have Tommie and Barb that close together.:ernaehrung004:

I have one in a cheap frame. Nothing wrong with it, but I'm not too sure I really want to get rid of it. No kidding. I'm looking at it right now.
PM me.

That is hard to say, because there wasn't another 420 with trip 800's built either from what I understand.

sacaja 10-09-2007 11:30 AM

i know the owner- Mike Ohrt ph. 563 522 2540
he will hook you up or better yet sell the boat to you.

It is definately one of my favorite paint jobs. We have a guy here on Lake Norman that painted is 25 Outlaw exactly like that.

If you are getting top dollar for that paint job, I have to wait and see if Jason takes it first. If not I give you the top dollar bill in the stack!:cool-smiley-026:

I suppose I could live without it. I think I'd like to draw up a contract on it. I would like to actually "loan" it to you. Like fine art. Only classier.
About the top dollar thing.......Did your parents have any kids that lived?:D

LOL

The wife has been gone to Charleston since last weekend and she just got back home yesterday. I heard her laughing last night and it was at your post!

She was online making sure I had not started any trouble while she was gone.

I told her that with Jason and Jay onlne is was hard to stay out of trouble!

JasonSmith 10-11-2007 08:48 AM

I know the feeling of the wife being gone & getting into trouble. I don't have to worry about that anymore!
So, do you think Mamma will let you have this poster?

thisistank 10-12-2007 10:02 AM

420 stepped Baja is a BAD MO FO!!!

I'd like to see recent pics of it if anyone has them.....

I'd pull that third motor out if I owned it, other than that it's sick!!

You took the words right out of my mouth!

I heard that the boat was completely gone trough a few years back and looked just like new. It was forsale for $250K after that and if I had the money and they tow vehicle I would own it.

A pair of 1075's would be the perfect setup.

If the money tree in my yard would finally blume, I'd venture to say, If I was re-doing it (like the current owner did) I would've taken the 800's out(sold them) Pulled the 6's off the back and sold the single And slap some now power (at least 1000's ) in a staggared formationIf possible. I realize theres stringer issues switching to staggard. Would've been expensive but I'm SURE the re-do was not cheap to start with and some of the money could've been recovered with the sale of the drive and motors.

I'm very suprised more pics of that boat (from recent) aren't floating around. It's such a looker!

Jason the wife said we need it also after looking at that poster Jay sent. When I told her it was for sale at $250K the last I heard she said "That's Not Bad At All". Maybe she has a saving account I'm not aware of. Don't let us beat you too it!

I'ver heard several times that it was a 92 MPH boat. Maybe some one knows for sure. Of course it was a heavy boat and back then 92 was FAST!
