Myco "Pull It In Style"
3 Attachment(s)
Back from Florida
The wife and I had a very nice trip to Florida to pick up the new Myco trailer. I'm glad to be back home and glad to have our baby on a trailer and ready to roll. The folks at Myco could not have been nicer. We got a complete plant tour and met many of the folks we have talked with on the phone. I was very surprised that they knew about all three of our Myco's and they also knew about all the positive comments I have posted on many of the sites and they really made us feel special. They had over 15 trailers under construction and about 12 completed and ready to roll including a VERY "CUSTOM" tilt trailer for a race boat. Can you say $$$$. Here is the wife giving ours her personal inspection. I could not get her to stop saying "It's SO shiny". She said it about six times and I had to remind her that our last two were also very shiny they were just seasoned! Here are a few photos. |

Bill and Tim at Myco were super to deal with and had our new trailer ready in just under five weeks.
We stayed with the aluminum construction that has served us well in the last two Myco's and went with two spares, torsion axles, disc brakes on all three axles and electric over hydraulic brakes. I also added a drive guard that I hope we never need, but hope it will save the boat if we ever get rear ended by someone on their cell phone not paying attention! |

Myco has been in business for 30 years and has 29 employees, most of which have been with them a long time. I think this speaks volumes about the company. They are first class in customer service in my book.
The steel and aluminum enter the building through one side. |

And the finished product exits out the other end.

In between you have two assemble lines with precision jigs and professional welders building what I refer to as a work of art. Have you ever noticed the weld beads they lay on that metal. The wife says it looks like icing on a cake.
They also have a state of the art paint booth for those pretty finishes on the steel trailers. |

I'm sure there is a happy customer waiting for this Myco with a matching cradel for his boat lift.
SWEET |

I think Myco has been supporting poker runs longer then most of us even knew they existed.

It was pretty awesome to see all the photos on their walls of older race boats sitting on Myco's from years back.
This is one really SWEET custom tilt trailer for a race boat. $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$ |

Beautiful trailer. I was impressed with my shiney new trailer. after about a month its seasoned in now also :D They did a nice job The back bunkls line up perfect or did you have to tweak your crank pully some. I am getting my upgradded carlisle actuator tommorow. I hope it stops better. Dennis |
Doc,
I guess I wasn't paying attention. Didn't you already have a Myco and why did you change?? Smitty |

If I had left it where Myco had it the transom would have been hanging off the back bunks about four inches. This is something they tell you to do once you have the trailer and boat together. They actually recommend you setting the transom about three inches ahead of the end of the bunk but from my other trailer that gave me too much toungue weight. It works perfect where you see it now. Thanks Dock |

Smitty Yes I had a good Myco trailer but when the opportunity came up to sell it that gave me the chance to get a new one with some options like the drive guard and electric over hydraulic brakes. Kevin "Ddawg" bought the old one I had for his 36OL and I think it was a win / win for both of us. |
*****in' trailer, that drive guard makes it loooooong.
I'm assuming its all MIG'd aluminum? That would take a ton of time to TIG all of that. But then again for the pretty penny they charge it could be... BTW - Thanks for the bearings Dock, they worked out great. |

You might ck into it if its something ya cant just get it anywere. I know on my Myco The rear gease seal is a special unit and has a stainless sleave that fits over the spindle you can only get from Myco , so if your broke down on the side of the road ya stuck:mad:, I bought a complete hub and all spare parts just incase. Also if you have a blow out and the tire comes apart it usally takes out the brake line, the metal and rubber one, been there:eek:So I have spare made up brake lines and all parts :D Rob:D |

It is good insurance and I don't want to be sitting on the side of the highway 500 miles from home with my thumb up my a$$. With proper maintenance I have never had an issue, but I have saved a couple of friends out on the road that were not prepared. Also I do have a spare brake line for just that reason and I need to double check and make sure it matches the new trailer. I assume they are the same. I have seen many a freind have that problem also. When those load range "E" tires blow with 80 PSI they can do some damage. I really like the new system on the seals. It looks like it is an improvement. I'll put the center caps on when I do the wheel locks which will probably be Sunday afternoon since we will be at the Charlotte Motor Speedway for the Friday and Saturday night races. Thanks buddy |

Looks like a trailer to fit the 48 OUTERLIMITS cat being built for Lake Cumberland.

Here is the new wheel you will be seeing on the new 08 Myco trailers next year.
Personally I do not like it and shared my opinion on that while there. I think you need a polished shiny finish on a wheel to really set off the trailer. This looks too much like aluminum and will just plend in. Just my opinion we will see. |
Did they thank you for your opinion or just say:Whatever:

The trailer looks sweet. Wheels might look better than you think.

Doc, trailer (and boat) look great. That thing must've been a pretty penny!
What'd you do with your old trailer? |

Am I behind the times, or does this mean that you are going to stay with your Baja??

It has served us very well, it is the perfect size and Baja has been a great company and they have treated us very well. The Poker Run tour is worth it by itself! There is no reason to change. The only thing we can buy that we don't already have is speed, and that can be bought and added to our boat for a lot less money then a new boat. With the prices so high on new ones and the values so low on used I'll stay where I'm at and keep on having fun. |
great set-up dock, i still have my boat in the water and with the temps of high 70's low 80's it'll be there until i have ice on my eyelids. then it'll be on "my new myco" which by the way with the decals makes it look even better. have a great week and hope to see you soon. kdawg

I'm going to have my Myco repainted in the spring; does anyone know if you can get the "MYCO Pull it in Style..." decals from them?
