You sure had alot to say for someone who "doesn't kiss and tell".......
anyway, Making a 20 outlaw run 70 plus would make for a scary ride IMO. Clay's info is correct even if you don't like the way he delivered it....and it's not the size of the boat, Clay had a 22 footer just last year. Besides, he's not used to talking about anything but T&A in the un-censored section!!! (Get back to your room CLAY and post some more pics!!!)
Your boat could be made 2-3 mph faster with prop tweeks or an after market exhaust...my cost estimates are still acurate though. Try to enjoy it as is and save up for something a little larger that can handle the extra speed/power. There is a reason the Coast Guard limits HP in boats under about 24 ft and doesn't regulate power in anything over that size.

We specialize in making boats faster.. However the boat will most likely need to have other items installed & fitted to it for safety reasons.. That in it self can at times cost as much or more than just the making it fast part.. If you guys are serious about doing this feel free to call me..

You can Procharge 350's and add between 5-10 mph depending on the hull. That should get you over 70. the only other option is to get someone to build up a small block for you. I remember surfing the baja only forum and someone up in Mass. advertised a small block program.
But this all might be a big headache to deal with, plus I don't know how a 20 OL would handle with that much power. You would need a bigger outdrive and tabs for starters along with hydraulic steering. Might not be worth all of that work.

My suggestion is: get used to this boat, get to know it, then up-size. Fountains will be some of the fastest V's you can get your hands on, so are Velocity's. Do your homework. And be safe! Good luck!

Yeah, it makes me laugh. You try to give someone good sound simple advice, and they act like they know everything.

She has a 20-foot Baja. She doesn't know that I once owned a 22-foot Crownline with a Whipple-charged 502 in it!

She's just talking out of ignorance.

I knew you had a 22...didn't know the brand or that it was Whippled!!!
Went on a long trip with a group of boats last summer, one was a couple I had never met. They had a 20 outlaw with a 305 in it...that thing was such a wild ride trying to keep up with us that the guys wife made him put her on someone else's boat.
(I had forgotten about that trip since the beers flowed so freely that weekend)

But, as far as the "ignorance" comment- You sound exactly like my dad (who's no longer with us) but, a cocky sob. Just not into cocky jerks. But, you do what you need to with your Viagra! ) But, everything else posted is greatly appreciated! ;o)

I used to live in White House, now up here in the great cold north. I have a few friends still down there that might be able to help you out
