Default 2007 Baja 26 OL - What would you consider a deal?

My local dealer has a never-been-titled but selling as used '07 26 Outlaw for sale. It has the 496HO, SST package, dock lights, upgraded steering wheel, snap in carpet, and matching Heritage trailer.

What price would you jump at this boat if you were in the market? I'm debating whether I should hold off until after the 4th of July in case his price comes down or just go for it.

Do boats really move in price after the 4th?

Show us some pics.

Have the warranty cards been sent in? Do you still get factory warranty on the boat and power package? Why is it selling and titled as used if it has never had an owner? Lots of questions.

This boat is an orphan. When Fountain bought Baja, they bought it under the assumption there would be no liabilities. This boat came from a dealer who got out of the Baja business. It would have gone back to Baja for re-distribution but Fountain wanted nothing to do with it. Instead, other Baja dealers were given the oppotunity to buy it. Therefore it must be sold as used but has never been titled and has never been wet. This is the best I can explain it.

With that said, there is no Baja warranty so to speak. Mercury, Livorsi, Benett, etc. they will still honor their warranties on anything they have on the boat. So I'd be losing out on the 5-year hull warranty. The boat is priced 22% below MSRP.

A dealer told me that the likelihood of selling a boat go down after the 4th. Doesn't mean no ones is buying, just that most people that wanted a boat already had them by this time.

Sounds like it's getting into decent pricing. Seems like the market is hurting enough that you could push for more. Plus, with Baja kinda in limbo that would be more reason to push harder.

ps- That trailer looks pretty big too, you could take that with you if you step up to a larger boat in the future.....

I am a BAJA Dealer and that by itself sounds shady to me?? Yes when Fountain assumed BAJA some dealers (us included) were given the opportunity to buy the boats sitting at BAJA. All new with full warranty. Thats pretty much all I can speak about on an open forum.

I think I might call Will. It sounds like he might be able to give you some accurate information that you might not have--it might be worth the call before you jump into anything. He sounds like a straight shooter based information he has given on this site in the past--IMO.
