At AT, we build the 28 and 37 with 2 major pieces or 3; your choice.
Hull, Deck, and drop-in Cabin Liner is optional when you order the boat. If you opt not to have the cabin liner, you get to do a totally custom interior.

What's the difference in terminology as in Baja/Fountain speak?

The boats with liners, have it in place of the hull stringer system. It's a separate drop in (with adhesive, etc) piece. Its 3 piece as well- hull, liner, and deck. It just goes the full length of the hull. In theory, you get the strength of stringers, with weight savings and no wood to potentially rot. Gets you a nice smooth gel finish in the cabin and motor area, too.

I tried a few searches, didnt uncover much. My immediate question is how well was the liner designed on the Hammer X? Maybe some of the ex-Baja employees can chime in. I would hate to purchase a poorly designed boat. (new Pachanga)

The controversy is always between stringers, or liners but I believe that the liners can be far better than stringers in the long run. I have seen good older boats that the wood rotted well before the rest of the boat was showing any age. We have seen liners in models like the 335, or Hammer X that were put through pure hell, and never showed a single flaw. If it is a 405, you better keep it in the no wake zone. That is sad to say because the boat runs so well too. I have rode in the Fountain 38 SC and was very disappointed in the handling compared to the Baja hull design.

With Reggie coming out with the 35, 26, and 278 with liners is good to hear. The one factor that is rarely mentioned is the "Scrimp" method of hull construction (before the liner is installed). FPB will never do anything like that to compromise the structure of the hull. It was just unfortunate that "what" Mr. Burns was reporting back to corporate headquarters was not true before it was to late.:Whatever:
