There is one on the board, and it's Shooters,,,, look at readers rides and youll see a pic of it,,, it is for sale to. You can see from the pic how the deck is different, but the hull is the same...... for that matter,, the hull on the new 275 Baja is the same as the 272, just a different top,,,,, why mess with perfection right !!!! ( yes I one a 272 )

Riverrunner -

I also own a 272 Shooter - the hull, cockpit and cabin are the same as a 272; however, the deck is different - the Shooter doesn't have a windshield and has a "bubble" on the starboard side of the forward deck that forms into a windscreen, of sorts. I believe that the weights on the boats were about identical; however, if memory serves me correctly, the Shooter was only available with the 454 Mag or the 502 Mag.

Performance with a stock 502 Mag is around 64 - 66 mph GPS, I'm running a modified 502 Mag (509 CI plus some other heavy mods) and top out around 76 mph GPS, and the motor hasn;t even been broken in yet...

They're a fun boat to run and you don;t see a lot of them around... Baja only made the Shooter from 1993 - 1995 or 96.

Hope that helps.

Incidentally, Obnoxus is right about the 275 as well.... all three (272, 272 Shooter and the 275) are good boats.

Riverrunner,

You will like the Shooter it's an all around good boat, that can run and ride with the best of them... I have a '94 with a 454mag. It GPS's at 58, the speedo reads 63/64, but as far as the Shooter goes I love it, and have talk one friend into get a '95 Shooter and another into getting a '97 272 with the Boss pkg. which is a regular 272 with a small plexiglass windscreen that is a little defront from the Shooter....Anyway let us know if you get it, and send some pix if you can.

Sorry guys, been outta town...

I love the boat - it's kinda Euro looking - turns lots of heads. I have an "HP525SC", single ram sterring, Bravo 1 labbed prop, etc. in it and run around 74mph. It's for sale but I might be keepin it this year unless I get an offer soon. Check out more pictures on my web site - it's been crashing a lot lately.

http://www.newfocusis.com/shooter/index.htm

I have the original 94 brochure that shows the 272 and shooter side by side.

even an upgly guy (like me) can get laid in a boat that looks like this.
