26 ol with HO prop

Anyone out there with a HO in their 26OL make a prop change and if so whatcha got goin on?

Thinkin about goin to a 24p B1

BrettM 08-18-2008 10:48 AM

I have a 24p Bravo 1 on my 26 with an HO. I love it, it has great power out of the hole and mid range is much better than the 3 blade. Top speed is 64 ish, with a full load.

emilsr 08-18-2008 02:10 PM

Let me know when you figure it out and I'll just copy what you do. :drink:

tblrklakemo 08-18-2008 02:22 PM

Hard to get better than a b1 on that hull......best of both worlds.

emilsr 08-18-2008 02:44 PM

Has anyone tried a Rev-4? Better or worse than the Bravo?

Thats what I was thinking....did you run it right out of the box or has it had some lab work done?

What RPM's are you seeing with it at WOT?

BrettM 08-19-2008 08:41 AM

This prop is stock. I can get 4900-5000 at WOT trimmed out. I also have a rev 4 23p that I might try this weekend. I have had great luck with the Rev on 275's. Never tried it on a 26. I will report back!

I am curious to hear the results of the Rev4, that is another prop I am considering

Curious if you had a chance to try that Rev4 this weekend?

XT-Innovator 08-24-2008 11:02 PM

A 23 Rev. was the standard prop on a 277 Islander for 07' & 08' from Baja on 496 HO's. The 277 Isl. is the same hull design as the 26ol but with a molded swim platform and a little different CG. I would definately try this prop on your boat and see if you like the results. The Revolution performance is likely in-between the Mirage Plus, and Bravo I designs. It is a smaller dia. than the Bravo I, but with more rake in the design. It likes to run a little deeper "X" dim. like the Mirage Plus, but the four blades help in the lower, and mid-range performance. Note: that you cannot get a Rev. Labbed from Mercury Marine though. I have also found that the larger dia. and flatter rake of the Bravo I running a little deeper on a single engine boat acts like a paracute when you chop the throttles, and the boat looses speed much quicker. The Bravo I top speed is hard to beat, but I have seen both the Mirage, and Bravo do it on certain boats. You just need to test them on your boat, and see what you like the best.

XT:cool:

Every 26 and 277 I have ordered in tha last 2-3 years has come standard with a 23p Mirage Plus. If you want a 4-blade it has to be noted on the order sheet.

I had a wedding Saturday and did not make it out this weekend. I am off to LOTO for Labor day and the 26 will be at home. I will have to report back later. Sorry, Brett.

I hate to keep you waitn man!!

Last Sunday was 63-65 here. It stayed on the trailer. The Rev is on the boat now. The only thing that can stop me this Sunday is if the boat sells. I have it on Ebay now.

emilsr 09-22-2008 07:58 AM

Inquiring minds want to know....

BrettM 09-22-2008 09:34 AM

I was out of the office Friday and Saturday. I got to the dealership to get the boat early morning Sunday, and the rev 4was off the boat. Apparently someone with a 275 Baja had to have the prop, so it was SOLD. Sorry to let you guys down. On the plus side I have 30 hours on my 2008 26. We ran the Bravo 1 24p this weekend, cold water, half a tank of fuel, 4750rpms, 67mph, GPS. Boat ran nice!!!

That's pretty sweet. Stock 496/425 right?
CMI headers alone would probably yield enough extra ponies to see 70 or more.

BrettM 09-24-2008 08:31 AM

Stock HO, 3 people on board, less than half a tank of fuel. The boat has all out boating junk in it, custom stereo, transom shower, Dual batteries, etc... I am happy with the performance of this boat. Now it just needs a new home so I can start on a new one!!
