Default 88 240 - What do you all think?

Saw this 88 240 on eBay. Looks decent. Not perfect by any means. But seems to be a lot closer to my budget. What do you all think about it? Anyone have any history on it or know the owner or previous owners?

What would you all give? And yes I know its a buyers market and I could try to lowball the guy, but I would like to hear honest opinions of what you all think it is worth.

Thanks Again.

I can tell you the interior color will be enough to drive you nuts on a hot sunny day. I had an 18 ft open bow skier with a darker interior like that, and on even partly sunny days it got so hot it was hard to sit or walk around in it without laying towels all over the place to cool it off.

That interior will urn your ass on a 70* day!
The 240 is a good boat. Takes tons of power to get them to do anything over 70.

Yeah I thought the same thing about the interior. I've got ALL white now. Spend more time trying to keep it clean than anything. Can't find a happy medium.

As power, what do you all think about the engine and his claim of 80mph? Sounded high to me. Also, what could I expect on rebuild time/maintenance on something like that if it is what he says?

Looks like its got a ton of power...since the interior is in fair shape....just change it. Have no idea on a value...more value in the engine than the boat but since its an older hull probably hurt the engine value. I'm throwing 10K out there due to it being in an 88....hard to say maybe less....probably better to spend a lil more and get a newer 24 outlaw. Thats a tough call....personally on my money I wouldnt give more than 6K. It would be worth more to me for the power train.

The ad claims it has been dyno'ed at 600HP. Would that Bravo handle that many ponies? And if so how gentle would you have to be on it and what would the rebuild time be?

I would love to buy a newer 24' outlaw, but the boat fund is limited right now (wedding fund a.k.a. whatever the future wife wants fund comes first ). The guy told me what he's got his reserve at and it is reasonable.

Anybody in Philly want to check it out for me?

I started out with a 88 240 and had a ball with it. I had a 460 hp 454 and it would run right at 70 mph which is plenty fast for it. It was a great river boat.

Hi Gettin Wet

I have a 88’ 240 Sport for sale also. Purchased it a few years ago, great all around boat, big cockpit for the size boat, rides great in the rough. Huge cabin for overnights. I just don’t have time to use mine. I have a lot of new parts in it and don’t want to give it away. There are some great people on here with good info on this boat. Have answered many of my questions in the past.
Good luck with the boat.
