New Boats

Baja

Guys I've been out in 5 degree weather all day and need a beer, so I have to make this short.

If you are interested, I loaded all the pic on my site. The boats look great, take a look at the 30 speedo if you have doubts on how the new boats are running!

26 Baja

What is the plastic tank on the port side of the 26 engine compartment that is held down with a bungee cord? Looks like a hydraulic oil tank for trim tabs?

In the '08 one? That's the fresh water tank for the transom shower.

What's up with the new engine cowlings? Is that a Fountain thing? Also where is the Latham resevoir or did they go to a different company for the hydraulic steering? Also why the change from Kplanes?

Merc changed the engine cowlings. Looks like the steering rams are still Latham. Not sure what is up with the reservoir. As to the change from Kplanes, there can not be an acceptable answer for that.

It looks like Founatin used the factory power steering tanks for the Hydraulic steering resivoirs??

Kplanes, easy answer $$$$$$, the Lencos are a fraction of the price. I too like the Kplanes better but not for $5435.00 MSRP. Ill take the Lenco's for that much up tick in price!

Agreed.

Honestly, I don't know how they can get that one by
"mother Brunswick.

How responsive are the Lencos compared to the K-planes?

Near the same time wise. I agree with above the kplanes are the best, I was expecting a better price to upgrade to them as Founatin and Brunswick are tied at the hip, but that was not the case. I ran a 35 and a 30 with the Lencos at Fountain and found these larger tabs to be quite responsive. They are no kplanes, but a nice savings and product!
