That being said, my best guess is the truck (Kodiak) with fuel is around 12000 lbs, and the boat w/ fuel and coolers etc.is 13000 lbs translating to about 25000 lbs w/people etc. Generaly when we are "traveling", I pull the boat with as low of fuel as possible and fill it up before we splash it. There is definaetly a difference in pulling "feel" when it is full of fuel. If I remember correctly it's 8lbs/gallon for gas, multiplied by 300 gallons, this adds a substantial amount of weight. (2400 LBS) What is your reason for asking, what spacifically are you looking to answer? Most people I have seen hauling the bigger boats just use a 3500 duelly to pull them. But I like my Kodiak! Gasoline is 6 pounds per gallon and oil is 6.5 pounds per gallon |

It is still roughly 27% right. Take that same percentage by any price point that that person is looking at and yes... It is a big difference.
I have an 07 40, I would have loved to have an 07 CIG, but my 27% +/- is a whole lot bigger number... Get my point. Besides, Insurance is also a difference between a Cig and a Baja. 30% more when I was checking around last time I was looking. You also have a smaller number of companies that will write the Cig. Last but not least, Baja is a good boat, If you have issues there, thats a different reason all together and you are most likely NOT looking at the Baja anyway... My suggestion is untill you have taken a ride in a 40OL, dont judge, because you will be impressed! But hey, I wouldn't mind the CIG either... |

Jason---I could not make that decision(new used boat). I dont know the money being spent but I know boats are all at a deal right now. I love Baja but for speed I would maybe looking at somtihng else. |
