Baja Owners: Plans For 2009

Just a fun poll to see what the Baja family has planned for the year!

Dock Holiday 01-19-2009 12:33 PM

I plan to sell everything I own while it still has a little value, buy a horse (cheap) and go to work on a dude ranch in Montana.

XT-Innovator 01-19-2009 01:00 PM

I would like to find a nice Baja 252 (closed bow) at a good price. The 272 is as nice, but will not fit in my barn on the trailer!

XT:cool:

kr1276 01-19-2009 02:48 PM

I really plan on doing some of both two and three. Some inexpensive upgrades and save the rest for gas and alcohol.

JaayTeee 01-19-2009 03:45 PM

Once it starts to appreciate, then I'll
get rid of it.

Normally what I do is start dumping money
into it on upgrades and repairs, then a deal
comes along that I just cant resist, and I get
sucked in:drink:..... guess what I'm doing now ?
....hopefully, a deal doesn't come along.

haulinvols 01-19-2009 08:24 PM

I plan on continuing to be a boat whore for at least one more summer.

I guess voting for gas & alcohol is acceptable!:drink:

AIR TIME 01-19-2009 10:03 PM

I need to make a rug with the baja sun in it with fades, I just don't know size my cockpit will be since I got rid of the old back seat design and am adding angled foot rests to lock my self in my seat. standing in drop out mode will be for going slow:rolleyes:. my new seats are set up for hard riding sitting down:evilb:.I was going to go with a pirate design and next year paint the boat to match it. this blown 572 means a longer engine room wear the pulley is:mad:, just won't fit. well theres other stuff to full steering and maybe 5'' headers for the new motor otherwise another year with 4''.

You are welcome on my boat any time my friend. You will be our official "Navigator" unless you have a more respectful title in mind.

TEAMBAJA 01-20-2009 10:11 PM

Anyone? Anyone?

WOTW2E 01-20-2009 10:34 PM

I sure as hell can't afford one. I am trying to find 2 wooden nickels to rub together for heat.

blefever 01-21-2009 01:19 AM

Sounds like you're going to be doing a lot of towing! Are you going to Desert Storm?

Who told you horses are cheap? My wife has two and she spends more on them than I do on the boat! Of course if she blows a horse up it is a little cheaper than a BBC!!

I plan to pull my engine and final tune it on the dyno. I never did get that shlt right last year. Hopefully I will be in the 90 territory !!

TEAMBAJA 01-25-2009 10:47 AM

Its official. Looks like everyone is drinking and upgrading in 09. Someone call Reggie and break the news to him.

jmeng 01-28-2009 02:44 PM

Using more or less as is this year. Might finally put the name on it. Will be at the Tickfaw 200, Emerald Coast, Pensacola for the Blue Angels, and a Baton Rouge to Biloxi trip planned. Hope gas stays where it is...

TEAMBAJA 06-05-2009 06:27 PM

NoWake200 06-06-2009 09:15 AM

Sweet, no more payments means more rounds of Jager! We'll stick around this time! :drink:

brian41 06-06-2009 02:26 PM

Ya took 1/2 hour to get a round, I turn around and every bodies gone. So what do you do with 7 Yager bombs.

You drink them, ralph on the side of the boat next to you and pass out in the cabin. Then you wake up in the morning with a naked couple sleeping next to you. At least the girl was between me and my buddy:evilb:

Smitty 06-06-2009 04:13 PM

Sending my motors out to be reprogrammed and then hopefully back in the boat by Jul 1st.

It would be nice to go boating this year as opposed to last year which was a complete loss and cost me thousands.

teamvortec 06-07-2009 05:48 AM

I am keeoing mine but doing little upgrades as the year goes on. So far on the list that have been done.

New Clarion CD player like it came with from the factory, third one since it was new. The display on them keeps screwing up where you cant read it. 4 new Rockford 6.5 speakers with a Sony Explode 10" sub and matching amp in the cabin.

Regular tune up.

Trying to get all of the play out of the steering.

Added some red and blue neons.

And I guess see what else happens this year. Its just so hard to leave things alone.

Sorry to not answer un-till now, have'nt looked at this thread for a while. Yes, we do tow a lot but it's worth it to be able to live in Bishop. Lived in So Cal for the first half of my life and just got to be to many people for us.

We did go to Desert Storm. First time, WOW, talk about a lot of people, but people with boats, our kind of people, (well some...many...in another tax bracket) but it's cool to see the show and hardware.

jeff32 06-09-2009 06:33 AM

interesting tread!

Zoom3 06-15-2009 12:14 PM

Just put full hydraulic steering in the boat this spring. it's like a whole new boat !!
