Default Frozen swim platform

When I pulled the boat out of the shop in January I found that the platform froze and broke a weld on the platform. Anyone had this happen? I didn't know I had to winterize the platform. The dealer tells me they are going to install a new tube and repaint it. My complaint is that the thing came powdercoated from the factory, is the paint going to stay on it?

I would have them replace it.
A few years ago they were having problems with corrosion from the inside on some platforms, the water coming in through the drain holes in the tubes.
So they stopped putting drain holes in them. My platform has been replaced by the factory--no holes.

It happens and I have heard of this a few times.

If it is water tight like they are supposed to be it will not freeze.

They should replace it.
