Looks like the liner seperated from the Plexus bond a little. The dealer will more than likely take a die grinder and clean out that area and refill it with plexus then repaint.

Alot of good advice in this thread, take it to the dealer just in case there are any major problems in the future.

Keep us posted. It will be interesting to follow the process along and see how Sea Ray deals with the situation.

There is NO fix. Make sure they use arosyl instead of plexus to make the repair but it will keep cracking. The 30 and the 35 developed this problem when they incorperated the inner liner, glass will give a little, the liner will not. The result are the cracks and for many people it meant new boat. However now that Fountain owns Baja he has taken the liner out and fixed the issue, and Brunswick is no longer honering the warranty on the hulls. They will fix it and fix it until you are out of warranty but there is NO fix. I helped 4 people get into new 30s after they broke at LOTO, and I know a 35 that came from Iowa was given a new boat as well. Now it's all a grey area.

Please PM me if you want more info, I love Bajas and don't want to drag them any further through the gutter.

Did this 35 crack in the bilge also, or was the damage up on the deck port side, right at the fairing and down into the cabin floor liner?

Flying,

I will start with saying that you may be correct with your post, but did you read what you posted? "Use arosyl but it will still break" The 30 & 35ol were always designed as liner boats, not "incorporated". "The glass will give a little but the (fiberglass) liner will not" Brunswick is "honering" the warranty???? Fountain "fixed" the problem by using fiberglass covered wood stringers like 95% of the Bajas models ever built? What do you think is "going on" under that cabin carpet in the 90 degree corners of most performance boats.....Yes, stress cracking. It just happens to be more noticeable in gelcoat. I answered the phone in CS (Customer Service) at Baja Marine for the last few months before closing, and for the most part what I seen was that, A little water over the dam, resulted in a major flood at Baja. Meaning that brunswick attempted to fix all issues, but became overwelmed with all the warranty claims they paid-out. Hell, I am not defending them, they sold my job to Fountain.

It is what it is.

PS. I still would like everyone to PM you on this issue.

the cracks are on the sides only port and starboard no cracks seen in bilge area,my concern is the sides are cracking in the engine compartment what about cracks that cannot be seen all the way up to bow the way i can only tell is to remove all interior to investigate.so with all that work is brunswick going to do it the right way or just fix what can be seen also i belive to fix the engine compartment the right way motors should be pulled so we can get in there and do it right
