Selling a '05 275 Boss

Well, this has been a great boat for our family. It is time to upgrade to something a little bigger and we have a deal in the works. Good news is that it is another Baja. As much as we would like to keep the 275, we don't have room for 2.

We listed it locally on Craigslist and I'm thinking I may also go the eBay route today. I'll probably post a classified here too - I have it priced to sell now ($29250).

Where else do you all post your ads? Has boattrader.com worked for anyone?

Baja_man 04-09-2009 10:56 AM

At that price you should be able to move it no problem. You have any links or pics?

http://fortmyers.craigslist.org/boa/1128276955.html

It's priced low as we have a lot of hours... I've seen other ones with a few hundred hours going for 35k+ and no warranty.

I'm going to take close-ups today. I have some from a few months ago but I want to have actual "now" pictures so there are no questions on what we are selling. It has been a great boat - will be hard to see it go but looking forward to a bigger, twin-engine Baja.

BrettM 04-09-2009 12:36 PM

Price is right with the engine and salt water, good luck selling, looks like a nice boat.

Thanks, it has been a wonderful boat. Honestly more reliable and performing than we thought it would be upon purchase. I took care of this one like a baby and it rewarded us back. We are looking forward to our new Baja too - hope it will be everything this one has been!

BrettM 04-10-2009 08:29 AM

What are you moving up to??

Glad you enjoyed the boat!!!!

bowtye8 04-10-2009 11:47 AM

 That does sound nice!

Would love to but there isn't a ton of room at the dock. 30' is the biggest that will fit w/o a major dock project and DEP permits.

We're hoping so. I've learned a lot in the past few years... i.e. I now have an extra of just about everything, including a phone. So far, so good. We've seen you guys out a few times in the past few months. Glad to see you are using the boat!

I've got the whole interior out right now getting it redone and doing without it for three weeks is killing me. That's the only reason we haven't been out lately,

TEAMBAJA 04-12-2009 08:35 PM

Jim, did you stop by the Sanibel resort during one of the Baja events (dealer meeting or photo shoot) with that boat? I remember talking to some people with a 275 with alot of hours.

Yep, that would have been us. We took a look at the 278s (new then) there and of course the Lucky 7's. I didn't even know they were doing the meeting & shoot that weekend.... we just happened to be cruising by and saw all the Bajas together.

We were also at the Miami boat show after that thinking about a 278 but we held onto the 275 (now we have over 800 hrs) and are moving into a 30.

Are you picking up a Baja or Baja By Fountain 30? I'll be in Ft Myers next month, I'll have to look for a new 30 tied up in front of the Lani Kai! Oh wait, they have canned beer there! I'll be at the Cottage! :drink:

'08 30'... really looking forward to it. The 275 was really great so no Faja just yet.

Yep, we'll be around there! :ernaehrung004: Had some friends down and we were over that way and it was packed. Should be mellowing out a bit now that Easter has passed.

Not this round. Bringing my girlfriend who has never been to Florida, so we're flying into Ft Myers for a day or two then road tripping to Key West so she can take it all in. Might stop in the everglades for a few funny pictures of me with the gators to see if studying Steve Irwin pays off. She can definately keep up, she just doesnt recover as quickly.:drink:

Bring her around. We'll show her how we do it in Ft Myers.
If she wants to go shopping, the wife can hook her up and we can get f*cked up!

Hell, you don't even have to go to the Everglades. We have a saltwater American croc living in Estero Bay right behind the house. They are even pissyer... I'm sure there has to be one around FMB.

No way, she'll want to drink with us. Besides, why let her waste money shopping when we have alcohol research we need funded!:drink:

I seen one or two on a little Carolina Skiff excursion in the backwater to Mullock Creek, The Creek Shack. Ever been to that little bar in the middle of nowhere?

It's awesome up around Upper Captiva. Barnacle Phils's is a cool place to eat. We were there Sunday. While up there, ride up the outside to Cayo Costa. It's a state park, so there's no hotels, houses, etc. Just cabins to rent. What I like is how remote it is. It's like you're on a deserted island.

If you're talking the weekend of May 9th, the canoe races down at Keywaydin are the place to be. It's just north of the pass at Marco Island. We'll be going down to camp on the beach. It will be a weekend you won't soon forget!

Punta Rassa ramp, right next to the Sanibel causeway, is the best place around here.

jswfl09 04-25-2009 12:18 PM

Yep, I would agree with all the above-posted info. Do go to Cabbage Key... very different and worth it. Green Flash on Captiva is another favorite of ours (on the water... just south of South Seas Resort).

Fort Myers Beach has a few places. Doc Fords is opening right next to the bridge (there is one on Sanibel - owned by local writer Randy Wayne Wright). Snug Harbor is right on the water there and they have good food. Parrot Key is past the shrimp boats in the Salty Sam's marina area and is a Key-West type seafood and burger restaurant.

There is a lot to see and do. With your size boat you will be fine. We are going to be parting ways with the 275 this week (sold it to a man from Germany who will be shipping it there) but we should be taking posession of the 30 outlaw within a week or so (waiting for the new lift to get installed).

I'm sure I will think of some more places and when I get a second I'll post them here.

Yep, that is a good, easy ramp.

Lover's Key ramp is closer to Bonita... but I don't think you can overnight.

Yeah, no kidding. Glad to see you out - did you get your interior renovations done? Your boat looks great - it always amazes people when I tell them that your boat is 10 years old. Sure doesn't look it.

Got used to the boat pretty quick. Lots of fun - runs great. Need to install the fridge and satellite radio this week. Probably upgrade the stereo a little bit and all should be set.

See you out on the water.

Post some pics Jim.

Did you buy local(sports boat) or have delevered from somewhere else?

Enjoy your new ride.

Yea, the interior is done. Went all white and it looks great. I'll probably be wishing I went with gray or something similar after our 2 year old runs around on it for awhile.

Do you ever go by our old place much at the end of the beach? Boy, what a way to spend my final days at Baja, we have a lifetime of stories living down there. While everyone was depressed about losing their jobs, we still had a place on the beach, 3 Outlaws (26, 30, & 35), and a Brunswick credit card for a couple months after the announcement! :ernaehrung004:

I kept the boat at Moss Marine for the last three years, so I was by there every time we went out. I'm actually trailering it now, so we don't get by there too much. I wish I could have hung out with you guys more. You guys were definitely living the dream.

Thanks - we will. We ended up getting it from Captain's Choice in Fort Walton Beach. It was a great deal. How has the east coast been treating you?

That's what Mr. Clean Magic Erasers were invented for. I'd like to buy whoever invented those a beer.

I miss the west coast. Seas are calm now but work has been busy.
The dock accomedations are nothing like Naples and some of the places on the west coast. I am sure down south from me but in the Vero area.Just some rough looking docks.
I hope to get over there in the next month or so and get some weekend boating in. I would still love to do a Key west trip. Just a short weekend trip. sat to monday or somthing like that.

Planning a Key West trip ourselves. I used to boat in S. FL when I was younger and with the family. Never made it much north or Palm Beach though. Lots of places to go but I hated the exorbitant amount of slow/idle zones.
