I hate to throw it away, I guess i may take it apart and see what happens, it still lifts strong.

I have same issue with one side. It doesn't sound like gravel just has a sort of squeek/squeel noise.

These are ball screw actuators and once the balls and race ways are worn there is no repair and they will only get worse. I sell heavy duty units for industrial applications and they all have a life span and will eventually wear out if the electric motor does not fail first.

Good luck

Get rid of the electrical actuator and replace it with the new hydraulic actuator!
Electric engine hatch actuators are a hassle and like to fail.

You will be much happier with a hydraulic actuator, the old days they would use a drive ram. But there is a company out there that sells the whole new kit now.

I agree as I purchased one myself. I have not installed it yet but it has twice the capacity as the electric actuators. They are more expensive but I hope it will be worth the price. Faster, smoother and stronger.

Call Mike Mayes at CP Performance if you want one.

I agree, if it gets stuck you will have a mess. Its crapped out, all moving parts wear out, replace it soon or you will regret it. Just think about July 4th weekend and it gets stuck OPEN ALL WEEKEND:party-smiley-004:
