baja question

I have a 2005 Baja 275 with the 496 mag and I might hit 60 if things are just right. I don't have a GPS for the boat but I did put the GPS I have for the call just to check the speed and I think 58 was the best I read and that would be with 2 adults and 2 kids plus over a 1/2 tank but not full. It seemed like the speedo and GPS was off about 3 to 4 mph with the speedo reading on the high side.

Our '05 275 w/ a 496 had no problem w/ mid 60's on GPS with 2-3 people on board. I am wondering if some of the hulls had a too much hook or something or is it just a difference of elevation/salt/etc. It always ran a bit slower in the summer (high humidity) but a minimum of 60 wasn't a problem in July/Aug. This is in SW FL in salt. Just to give a comparison with #'s, it had approx 900 hours and was sold this past April for 27-28k. It was in great condition and the motor, even with 900 hrs, was still running strong. It did need a new piece of glass on the side windshield (it got broken and was removed). It was the same color scheme as STUCK's above. Was a great boat!

I am kind of curious about the 275 w/ 496 only doing 63.5??? I have an 272 with 454mpi and before lab prop ran about 64 and with lab prop get 67.5 or so all gps. I was really thinking I had to have at least a 496 but it seems maybe the 454 is just fine. 3 inches shouldnt out do the extra ponies should it? Have to say I am already thinking of adding a whipple charger to it just for fun. I have never been able to leave things alone always have to add extras, especially the Harley.
