XT Rules again!

Some of you know I put up a thread at the beginning of the year titled XT rules for all the work they did on my friends boat. Well they came through again. I took my Outlaw to Kevin Browns shop at the end of october to have a couple little scratches on the hull bottom fixed. I asked Kevin to look at a couple other little things. Well the little things ended up being my hull and deck where coming apart from each other. Very fixable, but not cheap. Before I could even do anything Dave "XT" had already taken pictures and called Sea Ray for me. After a couple weeks of Kevin and Dave keeping me up to speed it got approved to be warrantied. Kevin's now fixing the glass and XT is taking care of the interior. My whole point is if you have anything you need done to your boat no matter what the brand the Bucyrus boys are the only ones you need to see.You couldn't meet a more talented and nicer group of guys. I personally will only take my boats there. As it states XT-Innovator and Lakeway boat repair rule in my book. Todd

Todd i have only seen pictures of my boat in the first stages of being worked on nothing even close to being done yet but if the boat looks half as good as the pictures i completely agree all i can say it is going to be a long winter waiting to get back on the water Ed

Farther for me and I've been up with the boat three times now. Once to boat on Erie and twice for repairs.

Of course I was bon to tow with two longest tow awards now over 1000 miles one way.

Well worth the trip!

You trying to give away my Longest pull award? I call:bsflag: LOL I will be even further this year I think I could meet Mark on the road and we could roll up together.

Yea I think if you pull up this year you'll have it 2 consecutive years in a row. Mark is about 800 miles away. You'd have a 1200 mile pull.. I'll fly down and help you drive it if thats what it takes to get you back in Detroit in June.:drink: Although then I'd have to keep track of the miles I drove to see if Mark pulled further..:lolhit:

jvcobra 12-22-2009 05:22 AM

I didn't want to tow my boat from NJ with my POS trailer so for the interior I pulled everything out and used a private shipper to get it there. It was under $200 for a complete interior minus the engine hatch fiberglass. Just thought I would throw that option out there.

Dave or Adam do either of you recall if Baja used a factory mount on the 500efi's for the Latham container? I'm running into a hangup on this and I guess I could fab one if need be, but prefer stock if there is one.

Dave,

I know the Mercury Racing did not provide anything "stock" for Latham steering bottles, but I would probably have to ask Adam where Baja purchased them?
I do remember that when we repowered Doc's 36 the bracket we had for the 525's was not tall enough, and we had to have one fabed. I may still have that 525 bracket, or we gave it back to doc, with all the returned stuff???

I checked with Mark figured he had the one off his 500's, but he didn't recall having it. Be a blessing if the 525 bracket was the same. If so I'll take it if you still have it. PM me the cost on it and I'll send you a check or Paypal for the cost of that and glovebox inserts.

Do you guys have the rubber seal/gasket for those glovebox inserts?

Dave,

Will look around to see if I still have that bracket?

When I went to the vendor on the glovebox inserts last week, they had two of the 33 Outlaw inserts waiting there. After designing most of the doors, I have a pretty good idea what each one looks like, and after they checked the part number again they determined that I was right. They want to know if you could send me your damaged one to determine their correct mold, and they will run a couple new ones since we spent 2 hours looking for the inventory that the computer said they had, but could not find!

Good thing it's winter time, and the boat is tore down right now....

I have no problem doing that just don't want to loose it. I'll take it out of the boat and box it and ship it to you. Won't be for another week though as I'm out on the road working and have been for the past 3 weeks...Sucks spending so much money right now with a poor economy it makes you have to work too much.

Well that definately wouldn't be happening...I'd be selling rather than buying..

WOTW2E 12-28-2009 11:00 PM

Those brackets came directly from Latham. I am pretty sure the 500 and the 525 brackets were different but probably only due to the length of the offset spacers that went behind the plate that the res bolted to. Just take a piece of cardboard and fab up a template. If you have the res and the engine available it should be fairly straight forward. I can get you some up close photos if you need them. Send me an email adam at saccentimarine dot com.

The height of this bracket was not Mark's issue. It was something they tried to correct the "catch" in the steering.

Adam do you think if I called Latham I'd be able to still buy this setup? I have the resevoir and resources to make it but by the time I buy the materials and powdercoat it I'm wondering if I'm not money ahead buying it?

I'm guessing the mounting holes on the 525 would be different as well if it's only a height issue I won't have one.

WOTW2E 12-28-2009 11:41 PM

You can try. I think Mark had some luck buying from them direct (filter). They used to tell you to pound sand unless you were an oem or dealer. In todays market, it may be a different story. Be ready to pull out your wallet! Mark can chime in here.

They were anodized blue. I cannot remember if they bolted to the heads or not. If they did, the bolt pattern would be the same. The difference would be how far offset from the fwd face of the head each bracket would be.

I'll call them in the morning if I get the shocker:eek:I'll send you a email on possibly coming up with something.

They will sell direct if they have them in stock, but be prepared to pay double what it should cost.

Thanks for the good new Jeff!! LOL! I'm actually getting ready to call them.

Irishtornado 12-29-2009 11:17 AM

Latham bracket and mounting hardware was 49.95 plus shipping and of course a COD charge as they don't take any form of payment other than cash or check.:lolhit:

And companies wonder why they're going out of business.

Irishtornado 01-11-2010 02:13 PM

Got a question for a buddy of mine from another site. Do you guys know if the 20OL kept the same cockpit layout from start to finish? His is a 2008, but the template for his carpet is a 2003 cockpit. Can you guys help me out?

XT-Innovator 01-11-2010 08:00 PM

Yep, the carpet pattern never changed on the 20 Outlaw from 03' to the last 08' made. About the only thing that changed was the graphic decals, and the motorlid vinyl skins from year, to year.

XT:cool:

I'm guessing I just blew my budget fixing my truck, so Golfcart is out this year!

Dock Holiday 01-13-2010 10:46 AM

Greg,

The carts look great buddy. Thanks for the pictures you sent. I shared them with Tommie and I bet you will be building her a Harley cart one day.

Did you win any trophies at the last show?
