We took two 30 Outlaws and a 342 last time we went. Last time we went to Bimini which is roughly 50 miles from Ft Lauderdale. I think Freeport is a little over 70 miles. As for how long it takes or how much gas you need really depends on the water conditions. We filled up on the way out of Ft Lauderdale and probably cold have made it back but we topped it off in Bimini before coming home just to be safe.

I cant make it this year, but I'm hoping you guys do this on a yearly or every two years basis. I'd like to make it on one next year or the year following.

Also, what are the prices of fuel in the Bahamas? I'm trying to work up and idea of how much I need to have to cover the trip.

And for those interested from West Palm Beach to Freeport is 86 miles according to Port Lucaya's website.

Yep, it was $5/gallon. I'm surprised Tom doesn't remember, didn't they charge his card twice or was that someone else?

Tom,

If I ever make it to Florida I am in for a few days at least. I had to stop off in Nashville and dont know when I will be headed south. I am getting my passport but I will probably be a late call on go or no go. I am trying to make it though.
