When I had a checkmate, I was told you should get a Baja, when I had my first Baja I was told to get a fountain. My brother got a pantera so I got an active thunder. We split a spectre cat but were told we should have gotten a skater...... Get what you like they all can go fast enough. I now own a slow bowrider and a 24 outlaw.

Gang...
I have sold them...owned them....ordered them....raced them...poker run'd them...broken them...fixed them. And just like I have said in other threads and what I used to say when I sold them AGAINST Fountains, Sunsations etc.etc.etc. "Dollar for dollar, bang for the buck, you will not beat a Baja". Between the strong following and owners across the nation (and world for that matter) you will not find a better boat for the money. Sure we would all love a 39 Cig TGU with stag 700's or an Outerlimits or Skater..but the 5% of the elite that can buy those boats are few and far between. Baja was really good to me in my days in the biz...and for that I will always be loyal to Baja....and not only that but I "like" Baja....and the people who own Baja's.
Trust me guys...I don't care if you have a 600K Cig...or a
150K Baja...when they break...you still fix them the same...
All boats float...go forwards and backwords...and will give you years of enjoyment, just comes down to what you like.
Guess I am biased
