So my buddies and I were sitting around the bonfire last night and we got into a little argument about the 240 sports vs the 24 outlaw. I have a 88 240 and my buddy is goin to look at a 92 outlaw, I believe they are the same exact hull design. I know the interiors arent the same, but are the hulls the same??

hey my buddies family owned a baja dealership and yes our 240sports are the same hull, I PUT THE OL WINDFAIRING on mine after a stuff and blowing the windshield out. also made a new hatch with scoop. and instead of having plexiglass going into the cabin they put vinly covered inserts. wish they glassed them in to tighten up the boat. thats what I have worked on. the newer 226 became a 240 sport and es after 1991 or 92. Ithink it was 91 they included the swimplatform cause two guys Ihad boated with bought new stickers and change the old 250 sport to 270 sport or es haahaha, then on over nights I PAID FOR A 24 AND THEY PAID FOR A 27.

OK, here's how it goes!
The Sport 240 was created in late 87' thru 88' then deleted for the new Sport 250 in 89'. The Sport 250 was renamed in 90' to the 250 ES, and then again in 91' to the Baja 270.
In 92' the older Sport 240 deck, & hull molds were brought back into production as the first "Outlaw" model. Only the deck, and hull tooling is the same between the Sport 240, and the better known 24 Outlaw. All the hardware, windscreen, swim platform, and interior is much different between them.

Well the Sport 226 lasted from like 88' to 96' with just three name changes. First it was a Sport 226, then in 90' it was named the 226 ES, then in 91' it was named just the 240.
I owned both a 89' Sport 226, and a 92' Baja 240 over the years.

I have 1988 Sport that I was told got ordered from Baja all white no rail around engine hatch, K plains and indicators, Morse controls. The stripes were painted on later because the boat was raced up on Lake Superior when it was new, or so the story goes. My question is could you order the boat like that back in 1988 ?
