Is there anywhere that list's all the info of the boats and what they ran? I would be interested to see where mine would rank with some of the other boats.

91 was the best they gave me, gps speedo in the boat
was reading 92 on 3 of the 4 runs though.

The fastest I've had it is 94.2 last fall, then a vertical shaft
let go.

The prime running season will be here in about a month
or so, I'm pretty shure 95 is in reach as long as the drives
cooperate.

Class was NV3P2

Good job JT. I saw the 94 run last fall, look forward to seeing it run faster this fall. I'll have my camera ready! :evilb:

I should have run this year, no entries in my class! :coolcowboy:

Same as me ( NV3P2)

Anything supercharged above a 525SC they lump
all together.

The boat that won was a 35 Donzi with whippled 540's
( 950 hp) He ran 114.

I have no chance in this deal, I just do it for the fun factor
( and so I dont have to deal with the non anchorers and
the boats getting pinched in the tie up:rolleyes:)

And maybe just to show the folks that some of the
Baja's out there dont run half bad.

I would guess that 90% of the spectator fleet hasnt
a clue on who's running against what, or how you finish,
they just want to see the boats run, and possibly see something run that they can relate to.

People do seem to wave at you more once you have your classification sticker on the boat though:drink:

I think you have me confused with our friends in
the 563 area code:drink:...my cooler is only a prop that
I use it to stand on and dance on:rolleyes:

The wife packed a small cooler for me, everything
else got taken out and put on the dock, she even
packed a couple of "bullets" for when I was done,
as you can imagine, they didn't last too long.

Class winner gets a plaque, and you get your picture in
next years program, thats it.

You wouldnt believe how many classes that there is only
one boat running, ( back in the shooters 21 days, I have multiple plaques to prove it:rolleyes:)so unless there's a big demand for a seperate class, I doubt the'll do anything about it.

This year you could have brought a bone stock 33 O/L with
7.4's in it made one pass and drove home with a plaque....no one ran in that class as I recall.

We go to Grand, knock out a drive, you come here
and knock out 2:eek:,...... come with the story.

Bills boat threw a prop blade coming home on on Sunday,
since my boat was done for the day, we put on my 5
blades on it to just to get it home.....talk about killer cruise speed, even with 10 people on the boat we were running almost 60 @ 3500 rpm, my boat runs 55 @ 3500 rpm.

Too bad it didn't have the power to pull them.

I do mine, as well as my friends too.

You just need to have the right tools, manual and a basic
understanding on how it works.

There's preloads and backlashes that need to be set.

If only mercury could make a decent quality XR upper gearset
I wouldn't be so familiar with their inner workings:rolleyes:

J T did you find out if I would still be in the stock class with my 25? I will be going next year to give it a try.

Smitty 08-31-2010 09:51 PM

Matt and Doug at PBB are awesome. Bailed me out last year. Saved my vacation.

I havent seen the final results. but I'm pretty shure you would have won.

The first one locked up the upper and the motor. Thought I had bigger problems pulled drive and motor fired up! Breath easy again.
Second blew the top cap off, I mean gone.
I will call and see what i can find out.
As for cost still waiting on the bill. Sure its not gonna be pretty.

I am beginning to think the Stelling boxs are my problem. Have had SEVERAL drive problems this year.

Crappy XR upper gearset are probably more of it.

Bills boat ( the boat we brought to grand) has went
thru both sets of upper gear sets.

I put a set in one drive this spring when we found chunks on the magnet when changing oil, the other one went out with a BOOM, and he doesnt have boxes.

The boxes dont help matters, but their not the total
cause of the problem.....chinese quality gears are probably more of it.......the newly added power may have a little to do with it too;)
