Verbi,
Mine also has the straight across bench. I like it in the 99 and 2000s for a tad extra floor space in the cockpit. The sun pad is absolutely huge! Tons of bilge room. I pull mine with a 2000 F350 V10 DRW. Pulls it OK. Wouldn't mind a diesel if I towed more.

Nice shots!!
I like the idea of the huge sunpad and all the room for storage in the engine compartment too!!
That is one of the things that attracts us to the 2000 model year.
I have to buy a truck as well and it will be a 1 ton, debating on the single wheel or to bite the bullet and go for the dually.
The highway traffic act in Ontario will be strictly enforced this year, so there will be no room for error.

I am biased on floor space but I can tell you that prior to my rebuild, I needed a 85 lb midget to change the impeller on the stbd engine!

It's a lot of weight back there. Steel trailer and gear and you'll be 12K+. You'll be OK with a SRW, but the dually really helps with sway. Long wheel base with the crew cab/long bed too. My truck is not my daily driver so I opted to go with the biggest damn truck I could get in my budget.
