That one in the fall was listed for almost double what I paid for mine with 502s in August. 7-8 MPH worth about $40K? Not to me, but....
You'd probably have better luck buying a 342 you like, getting some 500 or 525 take-outs and selling the 496s, 454s, 502s, whatever the boat comes with.

So lets say 55-65k for a 2000-2001, if you can find a decent one, clean boat with most options ( dont need genny) and no gay colours, 15K-20K for good power 500-600 hp each, pay someone to R&R then all the hidden or should do it now while your there little things could quickly add up.......
I don't know what to think....

You might be on to something here, but it still may end be being pretty expensive.

Don't forget drives because you'll most likely only have bravo drives and they won't hold up with a boat that weighs 9000#'s with 600hp

verbi I agree with Irish, as you know I am repowering and just for the engine X 1 I'm in $30,000.00.Does not include shipping or install. Now I am looking at drive replacement, was it worth it? I'm not sure yet, hopefully it will help resale later on down the road when I decide to step up, however I do know I will not re coupe all the money spent, but as the saying goes,"If you want to play you gotta pay"

Resale on 454, 502's will be minimal.
Sounds like I need 2 boats, a really fast cat and a cruiser.

Whaddya want to know about swapping engines in a 342. I am qualified to answer anything you want.

You can find a 496 boat and Raylar them for about $30-35K you can do the engines, R&R and Mr Gadgets drives.
If my project lasts any longer - a blue and black Baja will be for sale! Do you like blue and black? (no yellow)
