I complain alot. But I would do it again. I was on Cragslist lastnight looking for a Center Console or a 60's Camaro or Vette to do next.

Verb, you know I have owned 3 baja's......for me I think you are crazy to by a 342 if you are in that price range. I was so upset with the quality of my "loaded" 36OL I can never go back. A lot of boats out there in that pirce range with better quality if you ask me. 31-35 sonics have the same cabin features and are faster with the same power. Advantage 32s can be found with 500's and 575sci. 32 Hustlers and Active thunders also have spacious cabins.

Check these out

Good luck, if you ever want to talk about my baja experiences give me a call

Your bilge looks so good I wouldn't want to put engines in it! Great job!

Forgot formula fastecs are out there as well, the interior quality of a formula is worlds ahead of the bajas

This next boat purchase is going to be a tuff one.
We want good cabin space, small galley with fridge, enclosed head, prefer a windshield, and we want the boat to be able to hit 80.
My wife is now thinking we keep it under 38 feet in total length (including trailer) so we can still keep it in the garage at home and not have to store off site.
She hates the tubular swim platforms.....
Is the baja really that bad???
Appreciate any other leads ...keep em coming!!

Something tells me we are going to be seeing a thread about these and I would maybe ask around on here first.

Maybe I got some bad ones? I only had my 29 two years, no problems except headline and walls coming off in cuddy.

The 36 was the one that pissed me off. 3 years old the headliner and all walls in cuddy were falling apart, had it fixed and it did it again one year later only this time it had small tears at the seams.

The foward bilge is the worst design in boat history, wet carpet in cuddy after trailering, water steps down from engine bilge.

The wood seat backs shot after 4 years on the 36

Cheap plastic parts everywhere, that break very easy. Tube swim platform flaked out. foam rot on sundeck. hatches break easy. Cabin door track sucks.

The good was good, the gauges, bolsters, engines, drives....everything that wasn't Baja. The gel and graphics good. Cockpit carpet was amazing, soft and thick.

Boat rode well, got lots of compliments, but the quality of other boats I have been in just doesn't compare.
