Question Props tried on H2X

I would like to know what props H2X owners have tried and what results they have gotten? I have a 1999 H2X 502 mpi with 25 Mirage Plus and was thinking about lab finishing it, but dont know. I run about 4800 rpm WOT with this prop.

You want to be running at about 5000 rpm with the 502. By lab finishing your prop you should pick up 2-300 rpm and 2-3 mph.

Had the same set up as you came with a 25 went to a 23 and went 3 miles an hour faster turns about 5050 rpm then tried a labed 24 bravo not as fast as the 23 but it did handel better. EWB

Wasn't you bumping your rev limiter at 5050 rpm? I noticed powerboat mag tested a 1998 h2x with the 23 and it radared at about 72 mph. Was the handling difference with the 4 blade Bravo worth losing some speed over?

Thumbs up

The Hydromotive 3 & 4 blade props work awesome on the H2X. I run a 24 3b with my supercharger disconnected and a 30p 4b under boost. My boat handles way better with the 4b. Many of our friends have run the 4b in a small pitch with great results. You may lose 1mph with the 4b but it will be worth the handling traits. Don't let anyone tell you that the Hydromotive has too much stern lift for a Baja. I have plenty of camera footage of Hammers, H2X and 232's that are nose up and running in the low 70 zone. Don't get me wrong the merc props work very well, but speed for my friends and me is a secondary thought when your noze up and driving on marbles in lousy water. I hope this helps you out a little bit. We tried alot of stuff and the Hydromotive is our choice for these style Baja hulls. Good luck!

Ours with the 25 mirage 3-blade went 69.8 on gps. But the hydromotive 32 4-blade with the Pro-Charger would blow out with only 4.5 lbs of boost! We switched to a 30 4-blade bravo do to consistant problem from the hydromotive we lost 4mph but the boat feels more stable and doesn't blow out! We were going to play more with it but the first weekend out we blew the upper gears. So here goes 1.36's! new props again. So maybe we will get 90's out of her.

Ny friend bought a used HX2 last month it has a stock 310Hp mpi engine. What prop and speeds should he expect. He is barely seeing 60mph with a mirage 3 blade ? pitch. THe boat is quite a handful at WOT and requites a bit of tab and then it slows down more. Any suggestions? Thanks.
