I'ver been in some pretty rough water at LOTO with my 35. I've never even seen the door lift up. Anchor was always in place when I pulled it out.

I have the hanging version with out the straps. I did replace the latch on the lid with a stainles peice. but have never seen the straps.

While there is a baja guy here, i have a off topic question.

i almost bought a baja 252, and it had aflip up bow light, then i bought the one i have now, and its got the standard light thats in the way of the anchor line all the time.

so i tried ordering pop up stainless lights, but where the light goes is just a little resessed and the 2 different stainless pop up lights i found where to big, and ideas where i can find the one that fit on that other 252?

I have never seen a pop-up light small enough to fit that recess for the standard light. The Accon is way to big to fit.
Hmmm?

This was always a hot topic during every one of those meetings based on some Baja dealers that asked for them, and others that did not. Liability was also a concern for both reasons (loose anchors/carrying them) but in the end, the war was won to have them because the design was improved.

If you have a model like the 272 and the anchor is loose, that compartment is going to get beat-up. Models like the 232, 252, 29ol, 302, & 342 are a little better with the hanging design. I do remember having a company 302 in a local poker run and seeing the anchor pop up through the lid about 1/3 exposed, and drop back in with the lid closing behind it. (scary!) In 2002 Baja added buckle straps over the top of the anchor placement to help hold them in. (photo attached) I suggest adding them if your boat is missing them.

The best design started with the 292 Islander, and can be found on the 30ol, 35ol, & 335. Better hold down method, access and everything. Just my opinion.

Dave, I know this is an old thread, but where can I get the blocks, and clamps used to secure the anchor in the locker? I would like to use a similar design to secure my anchor in one of the closets in my cuddy of my 20 outlaw.
