The 272 is a performance model. Another words windshield with a swim platform.

25 Outlaw and the 272 are close in size as far as boat in the water. 272 is going to be more room and creature comforts. Both are good boats and probably the two most popular boats in that size. They both are stable, predictable rides in the water.

What would be better for us to know is where you plan on boating, and what kind of boating you do. Then we could give you better advise.

I had 272 with 502Mag ran 70mph and handled anything up to 3' waves. Great boat with lots of room. Cockpit on a 272 is alot bigger than a 25OL

Nightlife has it right.

My 272 was a great boat. Also had a fried with a 25OL. It felt smaller, I guess because of the windshied and the platform. I dont think it was any faster with an HO than my boat. Comes down to looks and size i guess. Ough and possibly the deal.

My 502EFI boat ran 64 GPS all the time.

+1 I'm into my 12th season with mine. It's a sweet ride. Big enough to get out there and do your thing, but not overwhelming to tow, maintain or operate single handed.

Make DAYUM sure you have the transom and stringers checked by someone you can trust if you're buying an older Baja. Mine has never sat outside or in the water more than one night at a time yet had the transon and two stringers replaced at only 7 years old. It's a very common issue in these boats and can get expensive.

now hold a GPS in your hand and come back and tell us what that 502 really does...lol. Great boats though, have a couple friends with the 272's and the 24-25 Outlaws including mine, i prefer the looks of the Outlaws but thats just me. Cuddy space is definately larger in the 272 than the 24 Outlaws, the 25's made a huge improvement in the cuddy layout with the forward couches, i thought they were very similar in size to the 272's.

I don't think 70 is unrealistic. My 272 with a 502 efi ran 67 gps with a non labbed 24p turbo 3 blade and 65 gps with non labbed 23p mirage. The cuddy is comparable in the 25 to the 272. I think the 25 has larger cuddy but the 272 has way more room in the cockpit. I know everyone has there own opinion but I like the look of the 272 with the wind screen far better than the 25 OL.
