Default Sellers Question

Hey guys im trying to sell my boat and ive been getting calls from a few different dealers? or private buyers. Theyve been asking me to take a clear picture of the vin number, serial number, and a picture of the title and email it to them. Why are these people asking me for these items for a boat considering theres no carfax for a boat? Is there anyway someone can scam me by doing this?

My dad and myself have been telling the buyers to come look at the boat personally, but I feel like not providing these documents to people who live 100+ miles away could scare them off.

What do you guys think?
