Default Could Use A Little Help.

I'm a first time boat buyer and I think I found a boat that I would maybe like to purchase. I'm looking at a 1997 24' Outlaw. The guy is asking 20k I think it should be a good boat to start out with before I go and spend alot more. With that said I do have some questions for the more experienced boat buyers. I would like to know some of questions I should ask the seller and what to look out for. Also if I should have a survey done. Any help on this topic would be great. I have not talked with the seller as of yet I wanted to get some input for you guys first. Thanks for the help.

Get a survey! They rot. I have had to do some extensive stringer replacement. The 24 was a production boat. I like mine. It has a deep Vee and it rides well in rougher water.

There are a couple of guys that used to build these on here. they will have lots of input. all around good boat.

Just my opinion, I started with a 24 and ended up with a 27. The 24 was very cramped. The 27 is the same money and offers alot more room and alot smoother ride.

I think the 24 has about the standard room of a single engine performance cockpit. Thinking i'm going to stay with singles. hustler makes a 26 too! looks schweeeeet!

What do you guys think of this as far as price goes? I found a 1994 Baja Outlaw with a 454 mag it has 600 hrs on hull and 120 on rebuild and all new interior for 13k.

Sounds to me like its priced that low for a reason - just remember the majority of the time you get what you pay for. thats 600 hours of wear and tear. just my 2 cents
