Default What speeds are 29' Outlaws running?

I have searched around and was curious on what speeds other 29 Outlaws are running with 496 Mags?

I'd say your best case is 68 on GPS 70 on a light load.

That's what mine ran with the mags. 72mph was the best it saw with that power.

496Mags didn't have the same power as the 454Mag as stated several other times the 454Mag seemed to have more power than the 502 did. I know my 496Mags would push mine slightly over 70 on wishometer and right around 68GPS

I remember fudging the average speed in the Baja Handbook because the official test documents had most 454 MPI boats running the same speeds as the 502 MPI option. Sales did not want to list a engine option that cost more for the dealer, to run the same speeds!

The 454 MAG MPI and 502 MAG MPI shared the exact same camshaft. The only difference between the two was 48 cubic inches and the stickers.

Sunsation found the same to be true in their 32 Dominators. They discouraged Mentalpause, who ordered a new 2000 Dominator, from ordering 502's. They told him to go 454 MAG's and lab finished props.

Here is a better story yet!

When the salesman selling us speedometers told me that brand "x" speedo's were calibrated different than the rest of the marine industry? Anybody care to guess who would do that! This was before GPS was common.
