bomar hatches
 

anyone know what the part# for the cabin hatches on a 2001 baja outlaw ? i have one gone and have tried to call bomar and they dont have a clue what one is on it .

Give me a measurement, I have three used ones I am getting ready to sell. There are two one size and one a different size. All white.

i will snap a photo of mine and have sizes ready for you wed first thing !

Look on the frame of the other one, I lost one and the number on there works when you call bomar, the price is going be shocking if they have to make you one, used would be preferred.

Are they like a trapezoid or oval looking?

I`m looking for the screens for the trapezoid ones if anyone has anything..

trapezoid shaped , 19x24 ? is the outside of the lid .

thats what bomar said BUT i have taken them out and looked for # and found no stickers or labels ?

What boat are they from that would probably help someone like XT to help you figure it out.

Here are my numbers left one 99009238 Right one newest one 200903176 pending its a 29.
The numbers are on the window frame lower edge middle on the hinge side, looking from the inside out with the hatch open.

I have two sets left that took Bomar almost five weeks to get to me, then the customer backed out after I finally got them.

Be very prepared for sticker shock, like Irish said!

The 29ol hatches were a stock hatch design from Bomar, and the only other model that used the same design was the older 300 ES/Baja 320.

The 40ol, 36ol, 35ol, 33ol, 30ol, 26ol, 25ol, and 24ol SE (port side only) used the custom designed hatch for Baja Outlaw models.

$125 each and a couple weeks, guess they make em from scratch.

XT, sorry not playing the gouge me game with your price. I`m not desperate and even if I was I don`t like that type of buss. practice.

i dont know what you are talking about but you wont find a better bunch of guys to deal with than XT and the rest of the X Baja guys

XT has been great to me.

+3, XT is great to do business with and is the absolute best source for information about Baja boats.

I`m not paying $150 because "I have them now" when I can get them cheaper from Bomar with that being said XT can charge whatever he wants thats capatalism:drink:
My competition (HVAC) does the same thing when it gets hot and people get desperate.

Let me understand this....you are questioning XT's business practices over $25? You could have just said "no thank you" rather than accusing him of price gouging here on the forum.

XT worked with me for several weeks on something I'm sure he made very little on. I cannot say enough good things about him. With so many vendors and builders gone his knowledge and willingness to help fellow boaters get the parts, accessories, patterns, etc, etc. is PRICELESS!! Thanks Dave!

It's $50 and that's my first experience with xt so I don't have the wonderfull experience to ....ah nevermind..

I'm a working man I thought 125 for screen was already pretty high, but in the end it wasn't really about the money . let's not make this into a big deal I'm over it and I'm sorry I ever posted it. I'm new to the baja brand and to this forum , did not realize XT was God here ... carry on Semper Fi .

So I should just sell you mine for $125.00 ea. and swallow the shipping charges that I paid! Then post that all over OSO???

Hey, anybody else want these for $150.00 ea. shipped tomorrow? Or, you can wait the 6 weeks like I did for a set from Bomar.

I also have a set of "block-off" panels that we designed to fit nicely above the screen, for those of us that like to sleep in sometimes. $45.00 each. (or is that bad buss.)

You kind of remind me of one of my friends. He's first to jump out of the car, run to the bar and buy a beer for himself quick so he doesnt have to buy a round. And if he takes his wife to dinner they share a fountain drink instead of paying the extra $1.25 for another.

I don't think you will find many companies willing to invest $500.00 for (4) overpriced custom hatch screens + shipping just to have in-stock, and then be accused on a public forum like that for price gouging.

Hey I need to forward this post to a few buddys of mine,first ones out of the boat at the bar.first ones back in the boat sitting down when your pulling out.

What burns my azz is say when your getting out of the boat at the dock/bar whatever and they grab their stuff/shoes and leave yours that were sitting right next to theirs on the boat or dock:mad::drink:

dont forget about the free lemons for the water i have a buddy that will order one meal and 2 plates

It isn't that he's a God. It's the fact that they(XT) where in positions at Baja that made them in contact with all all parts vendors which in turn means they have all the contacts with the vendors for the boat you now own. I feel sorry for you when you need a part that no one else knows where to get it from. There's one thing I've learned in life. Don't burn a friendship over $$$ and my friend you just did that considering you have a older Baja your going to find parts are VERY limited.

I'll say this the hatch screens your getting for 125.00 where 105.00 each in 2006 when Baja was still in Ohio and you had to buy direct from a dealer. So I wouldn't think 150.00 for screens is a big deal. I know I wouldn't sell mine for less than 105.00 now and they're used.

I'm always embarrased going out to dinner with my in-laws. They order water with extra lemon and lots of sugar packets. Sit there and mix up their own free lemonade:picard1:

I feel partially responsible for this thread getting off topic so Im going to donate $8 towards the screens. If anyone else feels as horrible as me, let me know your donation amount and we'll get this taken care of as quickly as possible.

I could use a screen for a H2X hatch, bugs in the cuddy, naw Ill pay the extra 25 bucks.... any screens out there for H2X hatch.

i wouldnt mind having some for a 272 plus one for the door i hate donating blood to the damn mosquitos

Not standing up for or down for anyone here. But, I think you guys are pouncing on him a bit. He is new here. Why don't you all show him how good of a group this really is.
He"s just proud of his boat, and felt a bit taken when $125 for a little screen already shouts bend-over.

And these comments don't sound to me like someone who is trying to gain a customer.
In fact, XT, I'm sure are a swell guy, but maybe you don't remember MY attempted dealings with you.
If you recall, last fall, I decided to have you recover my rear bench, since you said you had some of the original material left over from Baja. I told you that I would bring the bench over to you, but it would be a month or two before I could do that, and I requested that you save enough of that material for my bench, since it would be the most likely to match. You said you would hold some for me until I got the bench to you.
You quoted me $275 for the bench covered by you.
When I did call you and try to make arrangements to bring the bench over for you to do this, you informed me that I was sol, that you had sold ALL of that material to someone else and would take a 2 weeks to get more from the factory that MIGHT come close.
After waiting for 4 weeks for you to call me back as you promised, I called you, and now had raised your price to $300 just for the envelope, uninstalled, for material that "might be close" to a match, then again, maybe not.
Point being, that put a bad taste in my mouth (so to speak) for your dealings.
I felt really bad for all of you Baja guys who were dumped on when they closed the factory, and sincerely hope you do well. But that does not make you any better than anyone else here, just sayin.
Your return comments on a public forum were un-called for as well, and were beneath you, IMO.
So run with that!

Thats true,Been there,Hustler wanted $1895.plus $180 shipping and $100 crate for a windsheild for a 388 and would be around 3 months wiat,I had one made in 2 weeks,made a mold off my old one,400.00 plus 120.00 over night shipping on a saturday for a pokerrun that day!!!:drink:
