My 330-horse 454 does the same. I took off the NPT-flare adapter and used some new thread sealant and that seems to have helped on the one, but the other one looks like it is leaking from the flared fitting. I haven't taken that one apart and resealed it yet.

Ya Bob might be getting a little too busy and is forgetting some things here and there. I had the same issue with my firing order and it cost me a starter and a weekend boating.

I knew something was up with my firing order when i tried mine. i called him right away and he answered and let me know the swap firing order. But on the cam grind card that he had made it was right there and it was my not paying attention to detail that got me not Bob. and im not saying that u are meaning he left something out for you. im just sayin i lost eyebrows not knowing about that order. I think LOTS of us use him and i doubt he charges anything for setting these things up and i bet he gets backed up. I would gladly wait months for his free expertise. :coolcowboy:

your old set up was a hyd cam flat tappet lifters, now you have a hyd roller cam thats worth around 30 to 40 hp. on the dyno you should be at 575 to 600hp with the new set up. you might want to send the carb to nickerson in penn. they can rebuild better than new = more hp. if you bought a used imco 2'' shortie that will make the boat handle better with more top end. my 24 hit mid 80s before some parts were stolen. I had 650hp2''shortie nickerson carb 1050. your new rpm range should be 5200 to 5400 with that cam.speed 75 to 76, with a shortie =77 to 80.my new motor is a gellner 572 blown 1100sc, there in ohio Dean is one of the best in the country so if your not tied to a builder call him 1st. for props the b1 26 works well with high x or shorties ,stock high then the mirage 27 or the rev 4 25 brett at bblades has a program where you can test his props once you now what works best keep it or have him lab it. good luck art

was this Gerald’s boat? If so I own it now. Wondering if you had any insight on prop he ran and motor or carb specs

I owned a 1996 baja 240 sport with the 454 magum, i believe it was about 385 hp stock and ran 66-67 mph, it porposed so bad it was dangerous. We installed a b&m 174 blower with 5lbs boost 26 pitch bravo 1 prop, when finished it ran 81 to 82 mph straight and flat, no more porposing. Turned out to be the best boat i have ever owned
