Go aluminum. Otherwise, you'll be into paint in a few years.

I would never do an aluminum trailer. It's just personal preference. I could of saved about 3g if i did. I understand if you use it to transport the boat around, or your in salt water. My boat lives on my trailer. You get what you pay for. Besides, we are all fresh water

That is an extremely clean 272 with low hours and the 496 HO. I would start mid to low 30's and not go less that low 30's. I just bought a 2000 in the upper 20's wish I would have waited now that I see this one.

Well, had lots of steel trailers, and as they age, they rust.... no way around it, and not really personal preference. Mine lives on the trailer too, and the I beams on my aluminum flex less than the last Eagle I had..... so the trailer is stiffer, more corrosion resistant, more serviceable (brake lines, electrics) than any steel trailer ever could be. And it always looks good!

But if you were looking at a trailer that was $3000 less, of course it wouldn't compare. Got to compare apples to apples!

I had alot of intrest in this boat. But I raised the reserve so it would not be met and for me to keep it. It was 1 owner, fresh water, 496, no issues, and only 155hrs. I figured if i wanted to keep a boat, this is the one. And after tubing, beaching, going on trips, etc.... did not help any. lol Everything is for sale for the right price. I could of sold this boat a few times for 32-34k.
