Re-doing swim step pads - adhesive removal?
I'm putting HydroTurf on my 272's swim platform. What safely removes the old adhesive, once you've peeled off the old pads? I don't want to damage the fiberglass. WD-40 safe? Thanks!

FYI - if you havent ordered your hydro-turf yet i highly recommend you get the 3m peel and stick backing from them when you order it as opposed to messing with glue and fighting that mess. just take your time tho getting it lined up correctly, once you put it in place its there for good!

We used an adhesive remover on ours for decals. Peeled the old pad off and sprayed it on to soften glue. Still a lotta elbow grease involved.

Yep, already ordered the Turf..... and did order it with the adhesive backing. Ordered the ribbed purple (lol), and it's tricky to get all the ribs parallel on all four pads, but should look good when it's done.
Yes, lots of elbow grease. Got her clean now, just gotta get the pads cut out.

That looks really good, a far cry from the factory thin pads. Good job!

mine is on its second full season and is holding up great! no fade or edges coming loose at all. its much better than the orig stuff that was as slick as ice. i put the diamond pattern turf on mine with the purple and white marble look - love it.
