Sounds like a lot of nice work on that boat. I have seen 68 gps on this one as it is with 75 gallons of fuel and 3 aboard but the steering needs replaced with hydraulic as it was squirlly and I dont care to do it again. It made me think 70 to 72 maybe with low fuel and solo might be realistic ??? It has a 26B prop now and turns 4800 loaded like described above and I am being advised it would pick up a good bit with a Mirage instead. I don't think I will waste any money playing with props on it this summer as it is faster than it is safe right now anyway.

I know this boat, it belonged to a friend of mine. I agree you got a great deal. It was one of the nicest 240 sports I had seen in a long time. I told him he was crazy for selling so cheap. Sounds like a fun project, boat was pretty fast with the blower motor in it. Enjoy it!

Around here I think the blower scared people of but I've had so much of that kind of stuff that it was a plus for me as I'll sell the motor off likely this winter and use the money to help fund the changes it's going to go through.

I want to pump some $$ into my 240 this winter and am planning to build a real big inch motor for 750 to 800 hp, naturally aspirated and will likely do a 615 since I have a history with one I loved in a drag car but has been sold.
My question is will the nearly 300 lbs. removed -vs- original and all of it being that far aft create and awkward handling issues that migh be difficult to overcome. I just know some time goes into the hull designs to create the balance that they leave the factory with.
I am looking for a fast stable cruise speed of 65 ish. and if it would break 80 with me and light fuel once in a great while that would be a fun too but not the goal.
I know there is better platforms for going fast in a single but I was buying new Baja's back when my 88/240 was new and I just like the look of them and have finally been able to find a cherry hull with my favorite colors of white/black/red/ light grey so this is the one......period.
In short I want this back and to put it in that.

Do you have any pics of the hull strengthening? Or just the boat in general?
