given equal power (Stock twin engines) I assume the 29 outlaw would have the best topspeed in the Baja fleet?
With HO's that boat must fly
thanks

From: Denmark and hopefully some place nice
Never been in a 29 with 496HO's, but I will still say +1
And I've seen a 35 being as fast as a 33 with no tricks, bone stock. Both around 73. Never seen a 30 run more than 71ish with that setup. I think the balance makes a huge diff.
Jason S, you out there with some info???
Nothing stupid about your question.

I'm confident there isn't another 29 Outlaw out there that ran faster than the 92mph I ran at the Shootout in 09 or the 94mph I ran on GPS here in Texas in 2010.
That being said, the 33 is the faster Baja with equal power.
Those looking for a nice 29, mine is for sale, minus the Whipples. It will run mid 80's on 454's right now and I'll deliver it.

The Whipples did not make it unfriendly, they just took away some of the ease of ooeration for those who are unfamiliar with how to treat the sticks. They did add a level of supreme frustration to routine maintenance. Farting in the engine compartment was even more difficult than making a Speedo bathibg suit look good on a 300 lb hairy Italian.

I sold them mostly because I grew tired of fixing broken drives. I also have been making plans to leave the boat on Table Rock lake. Mostly because that lake is "home" for me and additionally so my Dad & step-mother could use it on occasion. We live 8 hours drive-time & 2 hours fly time away. I love Texas, but Missouri boating is where I want to be.

I imagine unless you knew EXACTLY what your doing [which you obviously DO] you could into trouble pretty quick at 90+ MPH.
I currently have an older 24 Outlaw, and at 6ft 2, 220lbs [and growing!] I am VERY well acquainted with how LITTLE engine room there is in some of these boats!
What drives where you breaking? XR's? SCX's? HOPEFULLY not #6's!!
Good luck with the sale [Although if I was your Dad I would be pretty happy if it DIDN'T sell]
Apart from a VERY short list of one off "factory" poker run boats, yours is definately one of the most Kick Azz boats out there [-:
