You wonder if the trend of the "flat paint" look will catch on in boats. Sure is popular and trending way up in bikes and cars and other industries. I personally like the look but can see how others wouldn't.

It might be a "one off" for the Baja King, just like his 30 OL was:eek:

Good or bad it has people talking so that can't be all bad.

I am looking forward to seeing it in person to check out the fit and finish of the boat.

I am not a fan of the looks. The seats do look like they are from the 70/80's.
The dash would look 1000x better with some Dark Carbon fiber trim(From the 06 aniversay edition)
Will be watching to see some other colors of this down the road.

If the "flat look" is coming to the boating scene. Its going to put all the boat detailers out of business cause all the faded will be in style then..yuck. I would like to see it at the shootout but I think my 88 Baja looks better then that one..

Talked to the new/old rep for Baja today, his phone number still works from the old Baja!
He said the seats are prototypes and NOT the final seat, the 277 Islander at LOTO this weekend has the production seats in it. The 26 Outlaw in charcoal is the first boat and a new gel they wanted to try for finish and shine. He said the boat is solid but the color is no indication of what the future of Baja holds. The gauge panel is stainless steel with Livorsi gauges and controls.
He indicated the decks are white as a standard and the full color boats were a no charge option, interesting.
Got a ton more info, but this was the major stuff I remember.

I have to say I kind of like the dash but itīs not a nice one to have for the eyes on a sunnt day....

It's kind of interesting to see the comments on this boat, and the totally different opinion of the last 41 Pantera on this thread.

http://www.offshoreonly.com/forums/p...a-website.html

Granted the 26 Outlaw can't hold a candle to the new Pantera as far as performance/overall bad-assness, but the color schemes are very similar and the opinions on the Pantera are all positive.

So it's not so much the color(s) itself, its the smaller details that really aren't doing this boat any favors. Which according to the post above hopefully will be limited to this boat only.

The only thing they could do to make it worse is the opposite of Abercrombie and Fitch and hire The Jersey Shores "The Situation" to take this boat on tour in the poker run scene.
