I was talking with JayTee at the lake saturday about my trim indicator being kinda irratic and he mentioned that it could be the pins wearing or wire going bad.. He also asked about the plastic tabs at the top of the drive that I'm assuming act as shimms or wear tabs.. I noticed today that the starboard side is wore off but my port side is still there (still a solid full piece but worn).. What is the purpose of these and how do I replace? As far as the wires and pins, everything looked good and had no play when I grabbed the drive.. Could it be a bad ground or anything else causing the the gauge to be acting up? Thanks

To change the pads just unbolt the steering rams and lift drive up.I like to secure with a block of wood and also have someone hold it.Pop the old ones out and snap the new ones in.
As for you trim gauge your sensors are probably going bad.

Dan,
You just pry out the at the rear of wear strip til the
male tab comes out of the case, then slide it forward.
it's item # 8 in the pic.
