Would have loved to see video of that! Sounds like a Helluva a race. The 36 must have been making some serious steam to run that kinda MPH! Although, he was probably just as suprised as you where when you where still beside him at 90+!

XT, I believe this boat has the cabin you where referring too?

From what I remember hearing about your boat and others like it those were my thoughts too, I hit 97 on gps at one point and I might have had 2-3 mph at the most on this guy. He told me it ran mid 90's when i talked to him afterwards which is what I would have said if asked, I got a few glances at my speedo around 94-95 and we were side by side. When he told me he had "1500" hp (750 per side) I felt maybe he was downplaying his power a little, I'm sure monday he will be calling his engine builder to look for more boost:evilb:. No name on his boat and I asked him if he was on OSO and he said he used to be under the screen name "drillin" which I couldn't find but not sure how he spelled it either or how long since he's been on, he sounded like it was a long time ago. I wish I would have asked him more about his motors, being we were in Pt Huron I wouldn't be surprised if they were something Crockett dynoed. Speaking of Crockett, I was reviewing my 1050/1100 hp blower tune on my mefi4a and I found that my Knock sensor WAS NOT ENABLED, I been running with this set-up since 07, that doesn't make me real happy and I know I didn't disable it:angry-smiley-038:, Smitty

I told my girlfriend in between touching it off to get the camera out but she wouldn't let go of her death grip on the boat long enough to even get a picture!!!

There was a guy on here a few years back that went by Drill it.As I remember correctly he had 605ci Lingenfelter motors in it,and he ran in the 90's.

"I have a 99 36 with twin 605 ci. John Lingenfelter built 750hp engines. I am running Imco Extreme Sc drives that are 2 1/2 inches shorter than stock on Land & Sea 8" extension boxes with Herring 6-Blades. Best speed to date is 95 GOS and 96 speedo in fresh water (Lake Huron). This was done in September on a 72 degree day with a two foot shop. The boat will run 92 in dead flat water. Let me know how yours runs with the whipples. I am curious to see what kind of speed you get out of it. It took me a few years to dial mine in to where I am today."
"I do most of my boating in Port Huron but I do get down that way a few times a year. Do you also have a 36?"

Drill It

Drill It

Ext boxes, herring props and shortys, maybe it WAS set-up that got him into the 90's with 750 hp, this was in 2004 also, who knows whats been done since, Smitty

I know it, the thing is fiinding that magic combo, after all the time and money I spent buying/installing a stellings box and fukking around with a Imco shorty I went slower and lost handling so I have resigned myself to just making a AZZload of hp but there are definately other ways to go fast. I'm glad I found this 36 outlaw guy and it sounds like he has N/A motors (lingenfelter 750's), If I had a 36 outlaw I would be making friends with this guy to learn from his set-up although yoou can't buy land and sea ext boxes no more, Smitty
