Default Decided On a 25 Outlaw first go fast boat

He Guys I have been boating all my life. I have a 30 foot Carver Cruiser on Lake Michigan. I joined the forums and have read great things about many boats. For me it is going to be the 25 outlaw.

Any input on what to look for when buying used? I have basic knowledge of the boat but, want to hear from some owners. I am looking for the 502.

Thanks

Congrats the 25OL is a really solid boat and was one of Baja's most popular models. Don't be afraid of the 454Mag motor if you find one. The 502 and 454Mag were almost dead nuts in the 25OL Make sure you have whatever you find surveyed alot of boats aren't taken care of and developed rot if left in water for long periods.

The 25 is a great starter boat and the 502s and 454s are very solid engines. I would get a survey done no matter how new the boat looks. Never know what the surveyer might find. Even if he/she finds nothing it is money well spent. Good luck with your purchase.

Surveyors will always find something, whether minor or major.

Have fun boat shopping !

And that is why you should do it

Look for something that has been used on a regular basis, and winterized properly. Boats and motors don't like to sit for a long time.

Good luck with it.

If so, look for a 29 Fever. It's a much better hull than the 27. Little bigger than the 25OL. It's 26' without the platform and beak, it's also faster than the 27 Fever with the same power, and the fastest of the three.
