I have a 93 outlaw 24 with a 502 mag.It will only do 65mph at 4400 rpms. I am running a mirage plus 23 pitch prop and I do not have trim tabs. The boat has a major problem getting up on plane.I have checked the tach with a meter and also checked the throttle to make sure it is getting full thottle. This is a new boat for me this year and I have no idea where to start without wasting alot of time and money!!!The boat does not miss and runs very smooth when it is on plain. To my knowledge the motor should be running 4600 to 5000rpm,and hopefully at least 68 to 70 mph.It seems to have a very slow trottle response when starting from a dead stop.I also checked the timing and it is perfect. Can anybody help me?? or is this the best it gets without spending a buttload of money. Please help!!!

I would also consider a 22P Bravo1 or labbing the Mirage. The B1 should help you get on plane a bit quicker. I had a 25 Outlaw with a 454MPI and it ran great (68-70 GPS) with a stock 23P Mirage.
Also, if you could swing it, I would definetly recommend a set of dual ram tabs. I'll probably have a set of used Bennett's that came off of my Sonic available in a few weeks if your interested.

I would take your prop to a prop shop and have it checked to make sure it is actually a 23. I have one that says 23 but it had the pitch increased but never marked in any way to acknowledge the change. I would think that boat should turn a 23 47-4900 rpm.

Last year we traded our 93 24 outlaw with the 502 mag and we we hit 70 -72 on the spedo. Our new 25 outlaw also has the 502 mag and we could only get 4600 rpm. After several trips to the shop we finaly found a bad exhaust valve. after repairing that we are back to 4900-5000 rpm's with the same setup you are running. we also had a 26 pitch spinilli labed prop that worked great on the 24 outlaw but was terrible on the 25 outlaw.

I have a 97 24 with tabs, 502 mag mpi,cmi headers, 23'' 3 blade, mine did'nt like the 4 blade it runs 67-68 at 5000-5100,and it planes pretty good but these boats are heavy and that doesn't bother me, I'm in the process of a hardin flame arrestor , fuel pressure regulator and ecu reprogramming, hoping to get 70

leese, I would definately get that prop checked or try a different one. I have a +/- 425hp 454mag in a 93 24' Outlaw and can spin my Mirage Plus at 5400rpms for 65mph. With the stock 365hp 454 mag, I was at 5050rpms at 61mph.
At that rpm with that pitch prop,at 64mph, you have a 0% prop slip which is not even close to possible on a 24 outlaw. You should be at 12-14%. Are you going by the speedo???
BTW, even with the boat totally dialed in you'll probably only see 63-65mph on a gps. Also, getting on plane with 24 Outlaws, sucks!! A 4 blade will help, but will cut 2-3 mph off the top end.

Just saw your other post about the 1.36 ratio. Now it makes sense as to why you are at that speed, with that prop and rpm. I would switch ratios to a 1.5 if possible. If its not in the budget, then definately go to at least a 21" prop. You should pick up about 400rpms with a 21" and improved holeshot. I would try to spin that engine so its at 5000-5100rpms. Also 24 Outlaws need LOTS of trim to get max speed. Keep trimming it up till you quit gaining speed and use the "trailer" button if needed.
